need help on single phase 8 coil
By: killer Date: December 28, 2014, 10:00 am

i made a 8 coil stator out of 75 turns 18 gauge wire. put a
center tap between 4 and 5 coil. test of one coil shows 2.44
volts at 450 rpm at 1/2 ohm. ok here is the problem. i got it
all cast together and im only see 2 volts out of all 8 coils.
what could have went wrong? i done the magnet test and all the
coils are hook together right. they all together measure 2.8
ohms. center tap to each measure 1.5 ohms each leg. i was
thinking this thing should at put out 18 volts at 450 rpm. i
just don't know.

i figured the volts are wasted in the copper. i got a 4 coil 8
magnet that puts out 36 volts at 2.5 amps. i was hoping for 18
volts at 5 amps. but back to the drawing board. i am thinking
about using the thing now to make a 3 phase 6 coil out of it.

i did a test last night and i used a transformer (110volt to
6.3, hooked pma to 6.3 and ran 110 wires to meter) to boost the
voltage out of the 8 coil pma and got all most 11 volts , then a
put it in a doubler and got 21 volts at .800 amps. lol. it would
charge a battery but slow.

@Killer
Its very hard to see where you have gone wrong without a picture
or two but if you are using 8 coils with 8 magnets then every
second coil would need to be reverse connected.
A simple stator test is to apply a small voltage/current to your
stator then hover a magnet over the top of each coil to check
that 4 will be attracting and the other alternate 4 are
repelling the magnet.
