alternator is built and working on wings.

i got my aluminum in and measured it, it well its .008. so im
not happy with that. thinking about skin the formers and paint
with etching primer and fiberglass over the primer to make it
stronger. what do you think? fiberglass rods are 3/8 so i
guess they will work?

Well some of the aluminum you get is springer than others and so
it does not want to bend properly! You can try it but I have not
had any luck bending it right. I don't think its the thickness
so much but the composition of it or how they temper it (if they
do that with aluminum ) is it painted on both sides or is it
shinny aluminum

It sounds like flashing and that's the stuff I have not had any
luck with, but go for it, who knows you may have better luck
than I did! unless you can return it.
