That is a very good summary. Get yourself a multimeter and play
with a joule thief circuit. Simple to make and teaches a lot of
basics. Then from there build an LJL-sc, or a lid motor (bedini
motor). Lidmotor's Youtube channel is a fun site to sample a
       lot of fun experiments.

For very 25 sites I visit there's usually one gem in the crowd.
Instructables is usually a reliable site but the postings can be
hit or miss, particularly for those more complex tech projects.
They require a dedicated author with good communication and
editorial skills... and video. if a picture is worth a thousand
words, an HD, well filmed video with close ups and good sound is
worth... and my math fails me. I was going to make an
exponential expression of 1000 words at 60 frames per second or
1080p or some such but I froze.
But even without video this article is great! I suspect it's a
bit of a marketing thing too which might account for why its so
well done but only two of the host of tools they mention is
from their company and the author is pretty up front about their
bias. I thought about stripping the article for its links but it
felt too much like plagiarism. You can judge for yourself.
