       Hi, I tried a wood gasifier a few years ago. The system has to
       be airtight, the fire has to be really really hot. and I had a
       few explosions. ::)Send me a email and  I will send you copy of
       the circuit.

       Hi, results from today's hour test. Remove the steam drum and
       did a hydrostatic system test, max psi for the is about 80 psi,
       no leaks. I was not able to increase the pressure above 80 psi.
       I ran the fire for about a hour and within 10 minutes reached
       above 60 psi. I have to solve a timing problem on the cam. The
       engine runs for two revolutions and stops, I am not able to
       manually push it past that point when under pressure. Without
       running the engine  I opened the bypass valve and manually
       pumped the water feed and was able to maintain about 40 psi as
       long as I was pumping.  I am starting understand what is needed
       for a longer run time.   I had fun and I am making progress.

       Hi, I used JB weld epoxy to fabricate the additional lowbs on
       the cam of the 4 stroke. It did not last long, I was able to
       scrape it off with my finger nail. It is ok say "I told you so"
       ;D It just can't take the heat. I have to refabricate the
       additional lowbs. It was a good learning experience.

       Hi, I completed the cam modification. The engine is up and
       running again. The overpressure valve trigger at 110 psi. The
       pressure dropped to 60 psi and the valve closed.  I ran the
       boiler for a hour and operated the engine as much as possible.
       Starting work on boiler control system.

       Nice brazing, but I had a frozen hose last night. (Michigan's
       Thumb area). Those gasifier video's are impressive. I'm thinking
       of going solar. Parabolic heat concentrating , solar tracking,
       high temperature oil collectors. No mppt needed.   ;D

       Nice work.  You may find that the inlet lobes need to be quite
       small and with a narrow dwell.  You really only want the inlet
       open about 35-25% of the stroke.  On mine that was just a small
       nub about 1/8" high and shaped like a triangle.  The exhaust can
       be open longer and close about 90% of the stroke.
       It takes a lot of patience to open up the engine case over and
       over and shape the inlet lobes.  I do this with the cylinder
       head off and watch the inlet valve relative to the piston.  When
       the inlet is closed you should be able to slide a .005-.008"
       feeler gauge between lifter and valve stem.
       If you do this right, steam consumption will be much lower, and
       the engine will run much smoother.  This will make it much more
       likely that your boiler will keep up with less fuel.

       Hi, thanks lynx. Right now the engine is steam hog. Even
       starting at 60 psi the pressure drops really fast.
       I have been keeping the fire small until I understand how the
       boiler operates.
       Working on water level circuit.
       CG, sound great. I hope to see some photo's of your projects.
