       I can't fathom why it would leak. {40 psi that's nothing.}
What are you using to seal the threads? Is the threaded steel
or the brass compression fittings leaking? Maybe contact an
HVAC company that does old boiler heating systems and ask them
what to seal the threads with. The large boiling vessel concerns
me as to safety as they will be under pressure also.
I think the rule to follow is "tubing small fire big".

Hi, thanks for the info. Image of main heating coil
modifications. I have to change the manifold configuration and
than I can do another small test.

Hi, just a short video showing boiler leaks. Todays test
revealed some problems. The fire is to small. The steam drum is
to small. I have to find away to stop the leaks. The pump needs
to be improve, when the boiler is at pressure the pump does not
have enough pressure to add water to the boiler.

Hi, yes I did apply pipe dope and I tighten the threaded
connections as much as I could. Members at SmokStak steam forum
say that is common. I had the first run of the converted steam
engine and boiler today. It runs out of steam fast, max run time
was 30 seconds. But it fun to see it run even for a short period
       time.
Now I can start working on improvements and then connect the
       PMA.

       Progress on both fronts.
       1 steam for you
       1 pma for me

       A couple things will help.
       1. insulate the cylinder and head. wrap with fiberglass and
build a wood shroud that fits over the top. You don't want to
lose heat off the cylinder. Heat is energy.
       2. Adjust the timing so that steam is admitted for 20-30% of
the stroke, exhaust nearly 100%. Timing is very important so
that energy is not wasted. Uniflow ports drilled at BDC will
help. I drill six 1/4" holes around the cylinder so that they
uncover at BDC, and also use the exhaust valve to prevent
compression. Keeping the majority of the cooler exhaust away
       from the hot head helps.

Hi, thank you for the information. I have to resolve the the
rocket stove and water feed pump problems first. I need more
than a 30 second run time. The rocket stove problem is a easy
fix, just make it a bit larger and add a fan. I am working on
converting a small air compressor that may work as the feed
water pump. Thanks again and I will post results when available.

Hurry............. the snow is coming. Very cold in Michigan
       today. ;D
P.S. Where do I get a good description of a "rocket stove"?

Hi, thanks for info. Working on mounting the water pump and
steam drum. It is raining here. Try youtube for info on the
rocket stove. Basically it is a insulated chimney fire. Leave
enough room below the grate so the ambers do not restrict the
airflow and I would suggest adding a fan. That way you can
through a lot of heat up to heat the water coils if you plan to
make a monotube. Eventually I will insulate the stove, steam
       pipes, and engine head.
