Hi, I think have found all the parts needed to start the
fabrication of the boiler to power the lawn mower conversion. I
found a system photo for a boat boiler. It includes a hand pump
water feed until the engine starts. I am going try to use a
piston from a grease gun for boiler water pump feed until I find
a suitable replacement. Not able to find a sight glass for the
water level but using the spark plugs with a simple led circuit
should do the job. Suggestion welcome.
firebox will be a small rocket stove

After the steam goes through your steam engine , send it to your
house through the baseboard radiator, then back to the boiler.
Electricity AND heat.

Hi, the biggest and most important problem to solve is to find a
low cost and workable water feed pump for the boiler.

hmmm. I would myself like to see gravity feed or something
driven by the boiler. if electric how abouta automobile
windshield washer pump. 12volts.

Hi, thanks for the info. It may work if the windshield wiper
pump can supply a pressure higher than the boiler pressure. I am
going start with a manual piston pump and use two one way gate
valves. We will see if this works. The goal is to determine if
the converted motor works with steam, determine how much water
the boiler consumes for a set period of time, and then design a
control system.

Nice info for a entire system, I will be using a rocket stove so
the fuel burner info is not needed.

as far as gravity feed goes how much pressure does (40 gallons
of water exert on a 1/4" orifice)? 8.33 pounds per gallon x 40
gallons = 333.2 pounds. would that be 333x4= 1332 psi?
Am I thinking about this correct?
Also the thinner your monotube the faster you'll get up your
pressure???? Maybe????
