       wind an storm

i use noaa weather broadcast warning system an anemometer would
help lynx..but i have studied wind speed patterns an flow here
for 25 years..we had shear straight line wind brief top 40 mph
an then gust after to 38 mph short storm an it was over.....but
my wind speed match's airports pretty darn close if not
exact.. i heard 75 mph last night an hail north but for some
reason an i believe it is heat convection from surrounding land
fills an airport thermal Cline it goes around us..to the north
       an south..

That's a good guide, but the weather in your yard, around a
tree, or behind the shed is not the same as the airport runway.
It's like a river, the current can be quite strong but near the
edges be 180 in the opposite direction at a different speed.
I am not suggesting you spend money on any more equipment, but
if you want to correlate wind with power you need to have a
       gauge at the pole.
The power output might be a more accurate gauge of the true
       wind-speed.

i agree...but the neighbors pitched in an i have removed trees
an old growth it is all open cleared 5 acres..left some old
growth tree but have channel cut threw for straight line
wind..when you where hear all that you saw is gone..i have a 300
degree perimeter of nothing but space an wind.. except for house
an 3 trees in house surrounding.. they ar in the path of
house..an then we have cross wind now channeled..threw
that..where turbine sits is 5 mile of nothing but open space.. i
get everything but south east wind an we rarely get that..

Looks like winds building from the SSW to 13 mph by 5pm. I will
be checking on the 175 today. Its all hooked up and ready to
log data. 13 mph is good enough to evaluate power.
