Hi, I was looking at the uniflow configuration and I starting to
understand why it is a better choice, the steam does not change
direction. This is just a first project to gain experience
working with the materials, gain a understanding of some of the
problems, and to have some real life experience working with
steam. I am trying to keep everything low cost with the
exception of the safety valve.
Anyone reviewing this project should know that this is just a
first build and a experiment.

Hi, I do not have the link, but I have seen some where that 3 HP
ICE converts to about 1 HP steam.

Its just math. If an IC engine develops 500-600 psi on
combustion every other stroke and produces 3-5Hp, a steam engine
could by using 250-300 psi every stroke. I just don't like
encouraging (amateurs) people to use that high of steam
pressure. I have a lot of experience and I am comfortable with
60-80 psi.

Me too. I have enough injuries to last me a lifetime. good thing
I retired, I was starting to feel like a lightning rod on the
job. Lets see 220 vots 60hz, 15,000 volts 60hz, 750 volts 7000
hz, 750 volts 40, 000 hz. 480 volts 60hz. Nine lives get used up
fast . Don't need no high pressure steam going bang. Oh yeah
also the table saw people eater. :D
