Hi, how does the condenser brain back into the boiler? Is there
a check valve?

Has to be pumped back to the boiler at a pressure higher than
boiler pressure. The amount of water is about the size of a pea
per revolution. Usually the pump is a plunger type driven by
eccentric or it is electric. I use a vibratory espresso machine
pump (Ulka) that develops 150 psi.

Hi, thanks. I completed the JB lowb mod. It passed a manual
test. It will fun to see how long it will last.
I have to reseat the valves than I can test it with air. I am
sure the valve timing is not even close to what you recommended.
I am starting to understand why it is needed. Thanks again.

Couple of things.
1. Does the timing for the valves change under load like an
automobile engine?
2. Could you generate enough steam with a "monotube boiler" like
in my Mr Coffee? Only larger?
3. For the Cam on Burnit0017 what if you stuck a round steel rod
on the cam shaft? Like in the picture.

Hi, this is all new to me and it is a real learning experience.
I did find some great videos on boiler operation.

Hi, this is about the size of the system I am interested in
building. Interesting comparison, does not show fire box.

I am starting to understand the need for timing the valves.
Input and Output are open at the same time.

What about timing.? I assume you want the input valve to open
just after tdc. or right at tdc.
Question....does the timing change when load changes.???
Is a monotube boiler just a coil of tubing that is heated.?If
you want to save the steam and put it back in as water doesnt
that improve efficiency. because the water is already hot.????
