       manual operation
Hi, I started a new project. I fabricated a rotative beam and I
need a small steam engine for operation. I was looking at
youtube and some of the projects are converting gas lawn mowers
engines to steam. Does anyone know how well this type of
conversion works? Are there any useful links that will provide
any info that will help me complete this project? Suggestions
       welcome.

       Welcome
I used to sell instructions for the conversion. Its a bit of a
pain to tear down the engine and make the changes, but a lot
easier than machining a steam engine from castings. Give me
your email by emailing me at lynxwind@gmail.com and I will send
you the engine conversion and boiler plans.
Steam engines really aren't the hard part though. It's the
boiler and controls. Its not safe to just get a drum of water
and put a fire under it. Most boilers are tube boilers. I
       prefer monotube boilers.
If you really want to do this I have a converted Briggs and
Stratton engine that runs great on 10-100 PSI steam. It has a
7/8" keyed output shaft for pulleys. I would sell it.

Hi, have you tried to recycle the exhaust using a closed system
with a condenser? How long can you run your system before you
       have to add more water?
       Thanks for the plans.
