I would think 1/32" is good. That's 0.03125" which is thicker
than the blade material which is 0.019"
There is an issue with how much the bracing pulls down on the
blade tip material. If it is backed by a plywood former in the
blade it should be OK. It wouldn't work on the foam blades.
The bracing would pull down into the foam and the blades would
       lean out at high speed.

How did you solve that with the 160 foam blades?

The blade tips on the production Gulls are made from an aluminum
and plastic composite. Its an aluminum on both sides of a stiff
plastic. The material is about 1/4" thick and very rigid. When
this is bolted and firmly seated to the spars they can take the
stress across the 3/4" span from spar to brace.
The drawback to that material is that it is a bit thicker than a
good streamlined blade tip should be.

Ok thanks for responses. I may try staying with foam blades but
first glassing and epoxying ends of blades then try 1/4 plywood
tips with a rubber coating attached to hardware set into spars.
