       @sut
       Many thanks....I try to help were ever I can and adjusting a few
       components on a simulator is only a few minutes job that can
       save some people hours of trial and error.
       Just a side note that R3 can be anything from 0 to about 10 ohms
       depending upon the brightness of the low setting required or
       remove switch and resistor if not required. The above circuit
       runs at about 850ma and 120ma on low but has not been tested in
       practice by me using the above components, (I do trust my
       simulator though and it has never been too far out of whack).

       @Barbados
       Just a quick shout to ask if you built the above driver ? ....
       Did it work ok ? .... current readings ? .... would be nice to
       know if it was okay with the 2n3055 .... really curious.

       @NessProjects,
       Thanks for checking in, as you may have guessed i have the
       transistors, the resistors however are another matter (
       challenges of living on a small island).
       I am still trying to source them on the island, if by weekend i
       have not sourced them, I will mail order them from overseas.
       Promise to keep you updated.
       Best
       Barbados
