@cg Maybe a small nose cone could help?

@ CG I put a cap on my bolt on top of the magnet plate and used
silicon to seal it to magnet plate and rotor to keep rain out .
I know that if water gets into my lower unit on boat it turns to
a white milky mess

maybe a synthetic oil would do the job better

don't use 3 in 1 oil...

saw my new 175 diy kit in action today...awsome wife took video
turbine in action sent video an stats to lynx.... i'm
impressed, wish i knew how to post a video maybe lynx can do it
. the pneumatic 50 weight heavy viscosity oil is smooth very
good oil to use..pole wobbled for a few minutes then vortex
concentric harmonic balance trued to a vortex pure balance..to
spin an generate 13.40 volt @ 15 mph about 75 -80 rpm an
slowed my solar array output..

with the ness booster..@ cg
i got home from church read lynx report @ ness is right it will
nullify override the solar charger with spikes..so now i have
separated the the two power banks.. an meters..just been record
a wind log today ..i have had start up speeds of 5 mph -10 mph
output then at 15-20 mph a dc surge in volts an amps.. i
trimmed some branches from a bush an now i get southwest wind
amazing... i was getting 12.99-13.1 volts real time data clocked
at 15 mph with 175.. i have a 24 v bank i'm going to switch to
an see what i get..
lynx i think that if you leave the 300 watt GTI which i'am able
too run both off solar it will drain battery with no power
input/supply.. i do not now how much the red light mode draws
in standby, or strain it put's on the battery so maybe just
unplugging GTI will do ,
an leave in red light standby on.. everything is working
well..just need more panels ,battery's more vawt's are on the
way... have super wind in the garden area but kids back there
playing.. i can see them on surveillance need to fence in the
rest of 1/4 are ouch..
definitely need to make a switching circuit to switch batteries
around to regenerate..from wind an solar source an be able to
isolate..batteries
lynx i wonder if the cord angle should change a few degrees i'am
sure you have been there an done that.. inward...what say you
Lynx like 7-10 degrees
an slightly more or the same. surface area cord larger...
have been studying designed air foils an we are going to
experiment with an Anemometer Wind Speed cup shaped? air
foil..?

just switched 175 diy wind to 24v mode i have 24v mini 24 v ah
maybe i should drain some supply they are charged..how dose 175
do on 12v deep cycle gel batteries?
can't do 24v i have to climb pole an switch leads to 24 volt

It would be better to use a high capacity battery. Think of it
as a larger sponge. There wont be much difference between 12 v
or 24 v. You are just trading volts for amps. The 175 alt is a
low resistance alt and well matched for a battery. You want the
resistance in the alt to be near the same or less than the load.
It isn't possible to use an ohm meter to measure the resistance
on a battery because it is a direct short. The resistance is
theoretically calculated and for a typical deep cycle 12 volt
about 1.1 ohms. Maybe 2.2 ohms for a 24 volt.
Keep in mind that with a lot of trees the wind is turbulent. A
turbulent 10-15 mph wind will give you 20-50 watts. Probably
not enough to kick the GTI into action. You really need 15-25
mph straight line winds to see 100-200 watts
If you want to see the GTI act as a dump load you could use a
smaller capacity battery which will bulk charge and then kick
over watts to the GTI. But then you may as well direct connect
the turbine to the GTI. GTIs meant for solar will work OK if
winds are straight line and strong.

straight line winds come in the fall winter an spring lynx
..had a good day ..experimenting...i do have GTI on solar, all
my batteries are Trojan 130 ah deep cycle batteries 500 ah deep
cycle total..i run the ljl-sc of car batteries they do very well
tuned..charged on single 100 watt solar used them all winter on
a battery charger testing....now i matched with solar an keep
topped off like a car alternator.
i got one that goes from 11.9 -10.3 an still works great..on led
lighting used for 8 months have two more car 12 v batteries
de-sulfate now are@ 14.2v great for lighting...free lights..
all deep cycle is grid tie to solar have a 1000 watt pure
sine inverter for back up use also. i will double that soon....
have 9000k of generator power more than enough to sustain off
grid use,, i have watched the 175 all day playing with a used
12v deep cycle charged to 12.89 matched input was 12.1 output
meter read all kind of stats will list below this is just for 2
hour run time on an off every time i change it, wipes meter
clean.. i have spent all day experimenting with oil
lubricants. i gave 3-1 oil another chance start up is
better...5mph an i had good charging dose not take much oil...
power increased in 20 mph winds today gust
battery is 12.89 v deep cycle 175 alternator matched output an
increased as speed picked up.
I went back to 3 in one oil both work well 3-1 is a thinner
viscosity.. will start up quicker... i put it threw a stress
test on wings today... i let it free spin an it was flying.....
just in 30 min- 1 hour @ 15 mph clean straight line wind cause
i trimmed bush
wind was wsw 10-15mph
ran 2 GTI till battery ran down to 12.85 the unplugged red light
is in standby mode will turn them back on i think it is just led
light on when pluged in they grenn light switches back an for
feeding grid..
175 meter read this with 1/2 hour of good wind 5-10/12 mph gust
reading was
4.4 wp
.02ah
.34ap
battery topped of @13.2v

will hook up some sealed gel deep cycle i want to see if turbine
can keep them topped off an solar too.. still testing..
