an what did you add the 30" to the primary?

crazyguy you posted a warning...i agree cant find it now.. about
.1 amp could stop your heart....absolutely
i agree amps will kill you... that's why i ask so many
questions an want to know the theory behind it... i am a novice
with some knowledge but no expert....i was tuning an old tv set
about 2 months ago had sweaty shirt on done it a million
times... reached around back no no.... i knew better...an made
contact with the fly back tube circuit board ouch..very stupid
on my part ...learn before you burn an take caution ....an then
its still at your own risk!
go slow an think it out..an ask question from the experts if
your not sure... i think we have all been there you gave good
advice thankyou... i want to build the transformer of the of the
shelf radio shack 2.0 lasersaber peanutbutter 291 ....tuned
transformer diving multiple bulbs i have is a 120v/12
3amp...black an yellow wires... i also have some 120/9v wall
warts... they call them.. that scares the heck out of me... so i
have been studying the schematics an theory behind the circuit
build...just as this one that's why i ask the experts..an learn
before i build an burn...

any one ever used the tip3055 as a replacement in the ljlsc ?
i thought i saw a mini version lynx did .. replaced the 2n3055
transistor... i believe i 'm having a hard time find the 2n3055

@ HGL I think now I am up to 22 on primary (wraps ) using 26
awg pri and 70 wraps of 30 awg but its still getting warm
after 10 minutes of run time . I have the idea of trying to wrap
the primary over the secondary like you would wind a torrid
coil. I don't know how this would affect the unit or have any
idea what I should expect ! since I have so little knowledge on
any coils, If I get energetic later I may try it

thx sut it is an experiment no doubt, i thought about the same
idea... even making two separate coils pancake Tesla coil... an
insulating them with wire tape... but lynx posted some valuable
info years of his knowledge an experience ...say he found 6.8:1
was the best starting point ratio .... thin wire too... it is a
trade off..but he an crazy guy have perfected it... read back a
few post an you will see our conversation i was even thinking of
a bifilar winding ..it has me thinking ...i will do that with a
tv yoke... i put a ferrite choke on mine an it dropped .277M/A
an it ran to led 6watt all night transistor cool to the touch
.500M/A is the target i'm of to the shack....or electronic store
i need some parts ...

just came from there...now that's Bruce's circuit... that's
what i'm talking about... i think you can use a shack
transformer too.... i just got back from a wild goose chase....i
wish i would have got the resistor an cap now ... i had the
parts list for the transformer schematic... it calls for some
of the same components...a .1uf ,capacitor 440 res... i may
have some laying on a board some where got new 30awg magnet
wire.... replaced meter...an new a pair of nte matched 130mp
tansistor 2 dollars more... could not find any radio shack
2n3055 this comes with heat sink gasket connectors an paste... i
have a few of the others.....i like this crazyguy...bravo!
