Ok, a little more investigation reveals more to learn. Happy
didn't wire it wrong, just different from our most recent
version. I have wired the LJL type lamps many different ways.
I started with a reverse bias of the transistor a long time ago.
It appears the coil may need a turns adjustment. I pulled off 6
turns secondary and added six turns primary. I am getting the
amp draw to calm down. The wire happy used is a red enamel wire
20 awg. I am starting to think the capacitance of different
magnet wire plays a role. These circuits are sort of an LC tank
circuit. Induction/Capacitance and the current can bounce back
       and forth.
Anyway, I think this is a case where everyone is right and we
are learning a lot. SUT, you maybe experiencing something
similar. The turns ratio may be quite different from what we
use with Essex magnet wire. Add primary turns until you get a
good amp draw. I am shooting for .500ma for the 6 watt Ecosmart
       bulb.

sorry i did...it was so confusing , i am sorry... i was just
running of the schematic correction.. i know by heart howi wired
it an stillhave a circuit wired the same way.. just small
       wire...i have a multimeter that has DC/MA INNOVA 3320

I have no idea what the final turns ratio is on Happy's coil. I
added primary turns until I achieved 6 watts with one bulb. My
guess is I added ten turns primary and took ten turns secondary
       off.
Amp reading with one 6 watt bulb is .500ma, with two its 6.25
       and 7.2 with three bulbs.

24 primary 90 secondary is subtracting what you added an
removed....it is off brand new 1/2 pound spool 22mag wire from
       Philmore
       bought at westland electronics...
       sorry for fading out...gentlemen..!
i will be up till all hours now recharged battery :o

       lynx an all,
i apologize for deleting the process but i detailed every step
       in documentation step by step
i will be replacing pictures of the circuit i built under lynx
youtube old video... an described the old circuit and how i
wired in detail as the circuit progressed as to make it less
confusing > i believe an took very good detailed notes an this
is the journey in detail... an this is running 4 eco-smart off
12v battery very bright! an will run one or 2 of 9v or less
this circuit dose run cooler on smaller wire than thicker 20
awg and 22 awg of which i also built with different winding
turns but wired same way,all get hot an draw to much current
heating up every thing an burning transistor an bulb after a
while running except the one with tv smaller wire it is warmer
but steadily gets got also... watch it close asto not over heat
       parts used in this circuit
       1. npn 2n3055 type radio shack transistor
       2. used 26 awg red colored wire radio shack wire new ......14
turns primary (primary left side is positive an base left side)
       3. secondary is stiff 28 awg copper colored tv yoke wire
standard wire winding on yoke, mexico...100 turns secondary (to
right side of winding it had primary collector an secondary high
voltage out on the right side).
(A: wound coil primary 14 turns pos + primary to the battery
lead to battery) left side coil marked as in youtube video
       (B. base from secondary to the transistor connected) left side
of winding same direction for both primary an secondary over top
       both coils together
       (c. right side was collector wire twisted to {extension cord/
to bulb} ...to collector on transistor , paired to chassis, with
       bolt an nut)
       (d. high voltage out twisted to high voltage {extension cord
twisted pair/to bulb} right side of secondary winding
lynx has my all new wire /22 magnet wire... labeled was 14
primary and 100 secondary... an he rewired to new drawings an
schematics says it pulls to much mil/amp voltage (he was
removing wire turns from 100 secondary winding to make it now 90
turns winding...then add 10 turns from secondary to primary
winding for a total of 34 turns primary) to get a reduction in
       mil/amps .500 i believe was the goal 34 primary an 90 secondary
       wit 22 magnet wire.
i have other original all new wire 20 mag winding it is 14
primary 109 secondary i removed 6 turns from secondary an diode
i also removed bridge 1 amp diode on all 3 circuits per request
from lynx, but they did work with the 1 amp bridge diode base
to emitter pos side of diode to base side still heated up but on
low voltage battery 11- 12 volts it ran for 6 hours that was my
22 magnet wire coil LJL SC
i redid heat sink made smaller also removed it per request..but
then made small as i thought more would distribute more heat> an
       reduce it..
this is an exact an detailed step by step analysis an
process..in building an modifications to this happy/lynx
       /crazyguy/followers LJL SC circuit
i dream about this circuit now..my goal is maximum amount of
led lights 4-60 or better an max brightness for as little
voltage draw tied into my solar grid with out burning
       transistor or bulbs..
thank to all lynx crazyguy for your sharing an knowledge!

thanks lynx very clear now...an you to crazuguy you made me
       think!
this is the new way you wired mine today which is your current
       version
this is the 20 awg wire coil, i have my original , 14 primary an
       (103 secondary / was 109)
collector an high voltage twisted to collector chassis
       base to bulb
       base to base/bulb
       positive to battery
       emitter - to battery
whala.... bravo.... new up to date current circuit wiring for
the LJL SC on 9v so simple i don't know how to calculate MA
draw with meter yet.... but i hooked this up in minutes
now which is right? this or the reversed bias method....i did
from your old you tube video ...would resistors restrict current
voltage? they both work.. just need to reduce heat... very
bright light larger resistor? after all it is solar an wind
power stored in battery bank...got my wheels turning now again
i'm so sorry for all the confusion an me going to sleep on
       you...
thank you very much i learned so much....
       god bless you all!

       warning danger!....... lynx is right!
this heavy wire winding... is to much for the transistor... i
just ran 3 led 6 watt an the where very bright on 12v....
transistor got hot very quick..with in minutes...more
experimenting is needed to cut the voltage and spike...reduce
coil winding in half ? but that is what i'm looking for more
light very bright less voltage an heat i wonder if more watt
bulbs i ran a ge 13 watt cfl maybe this circuit will drive more
watt..but i think that would curtail more battery drain less is
       best in this scenario ...
larger transistor? definite heat sink... resistor, capacitor?
       rheostat ..

       I just made up a 70 turn 30 awg /11 turn 26 awg coil. .552 ma
for two bulbs aircore no heat. Ferrite added, 352 ma for two
       bulbs, no heat, no squeal.
One thing I think we can agree on is that the most recent wiring
diagram is very good for this particular LJL-sc type coil. I
think 30 awg is probably best for secondary because it takes up
so little room and the primary should be rated for what the
transistor can handle which is 6 amps. Now the only question I
have is what is the optimal diameter? Does it matter?
Does the diode added in front of the base help in all cases, or
       just with certain bulbs?
