Yes, I agree CG. It's best to feed the signal back to the
transistor after the voltage drop. Your drawing couldn't be
       clearer.
Happy, make that change and let us know the results. Also, 14
turns will put one bulb right at the max for its rating. You
may want to de-tune with another 1/4 to full turn primary, or
add more bulbs. Running just one bulb at its max rating is
       touchy.

guess i was wrong... just blew a transistor only have one left
makes no sense..blowing an heat circuit >:( ::)

       Happy,
I think everyone has done their best to show you how the circuit
should be wired. There is no reason why this circuit shouldn't
be an everyday device. My little circuits have been faithfully
       operating for years.
Put your circuit in a box and mail it to me and I will set it up
for you. I have transistors, so just mail what you have.

I will find the time to do another video that is simple to
follow and then delete all the old videos showing previous
iterations. Then you and others can easily make this.
For now it will just take me a few minutes to put yours right.
I will include a potentiometer for you to play with so you can
       dim the lights.

       thanks lynx,
i have dressed an cleaned it all up quick fix... wife left me
stranded ,so i will get it to you in the next few days ....it
still has old fried transistor in place ...i did not remove it
but checked with meter... it is all labeled connection to
connection the way i had it wired ....then you can see my
mistake.... it is in my wiring, i hope... the smaller diameter
awg wire failed also getting hot.. but i caught it before
anything blew an will rewire once i see my mistake...... reverse
engineering electronic wiring :).. i thank you again. it works
for awhile..when i wired it very odd thing is it worked just
gets hot over time?..... the one i'm sending has 22 awg magnet
wire... i still believe 20 awg thick wire will still would work
too? more $$$ for thicker wire, but i had it laying around....
if i wire it right, i know you said (20 awg) thought it was to
heavy of wire i just saw it as a challenge with extra wire
around...i changed the heat sinks also to table top mount or
       just sitting there smaller.
ps i have family all around where you live.. small world!
       thank you again..
       bless you

I received Happy's LJL in a package today. Very nicely made
unit. It appears the unit has a blown transistor. I used a
multimeter to confirm the labels on the wires. The primary was
labeled correctly. The secondary was labeled "HV" and "Base".
I would re-label as "Sec/Collector" and "LED bulb".
The attached picture shows how the unit is rewired and seems to
run fine. I attached a wiring schematic to further illustrate
       how simple the hookup is.
Once you get used to wiring these, you can do it in your sleep.
Happy - I will install a new transistor and test thouroughly and
then send back to you. Do you want me to install a dimmer?

I tested the coil with 12 volts. The circuit pulls 1.1 amps for
one 6 watt Ecosmart LED bulb which is way too much. I suspect
the heavy wire is wound in such a way that the coil isn't
working as a very good inductor. What I mean is the primary is
probably laying up against one side of the secondary. This
makes the transistor work too hard and we are lighting the bulb
with flyback spikes and the transistor is on too much of the
       time.
I'll probably install a new coil and then package this back up.

bravo...very good i understand now :)....i thought hv an
collector where twisted on the picture...diagram by crazyguy an
       the schematic..
( i was connecting the base to base) an that was it half right)
(i was just connecting collector to collector not adding to the
       hv to chassis)
(i had hv out twisted to cord/ bulb ) wrong

(base should also be an the base with cord to the bub going)
the other half missing...... i got it now...... .... i was not
connecting hv out twisted to collector ...to to chassis either)
it was just the collector...to chassis
would wrapping both coils separate wingdings an tapping
       separate improve an reduce voltage?
