yup got it all set !! finally ! I don't know why I had such
troubles with this but even on last build I found out I had the
connections hooked up wrong and I even had drawing in front of
me, so I wouldn't make mistake. Everything worked for 4 hrs with
out any trouble the temp, amp draw, battery charge stayed the
same ! so solar panel is putting out at least .78 amps.

Got to use the ljsc today had a power failure for 4hrs , nice
to have lights in the garage to get generator hooked up

       Hurrah!
That is exactly what I do. When there is a power failure I use
this setup and then leisurely get the generator going. Sure
beats kerosene lamps, candles and flashlights in the dark
My garage and outdoor area is always setup with the LJL system.
I just haven't bothered to do it in the house.
I have a ton of interest from South East Asia, Caribbean and
Africa where electricity is sketchy and very expensive. We're
spoiled here so it's more a novelty.

Just thought of a nice way to switch from 120v to 12v I am
going to take a wall plug and remove the connecting bars
(neutral and hot bars) from the plug (top to bottom plug ) that
way I can use top plug for 120v and bottom plug for 12v It will
be in another box and still be safe and neat ,and of course
       label it.

Since I am to lazy can I leave the ljl hooked up to battery all
the time just switch the cord from ljl to 120 ? or will ljl
still use current not hooked up to lights

You can leave it hooked up. It uses less current than a small
diode. It would be months before you hurt the battery.

I have built this as the schematic shows. Is this one of those
"if it don't work reverse the coils"? I get 9 volts every where
I measure but the transistor gets hot and the light is hot. Any
       help?

Wow if it's getting hot with 9v you have something wrong almost
sounds like a dead short some where, but I don't know you will
have to wait for LW to reply don't hook it up to 12 v it will
fry the transistor if it's hot on 9v

Such a simple circuit. Neither me or my meter can find a short.
I might have used a bad 3055 ut it tests good. No current
       between base and the others.

I used my circuit with a 9v battery and it works great. Problem
is my little battery gets hot after about 10 minutes and swells
       up. Any ideas.
