       Gull 160 feeding the GTI

Right now January 22, 2014 it's 7 degrees F, this morning it was
-11F. Right now winds are 10 mph from the South and variable.
The Gull 160 is faithfully spinning and the GTI is putting out
8-15 watts into the grid. The voltage tracks up and down as the
GTI tries to find peak power. Voltage moves between 14-19 volts
       DC.
Wind power isn't for everyone or every place. This endeavor has
been more about proving the design of a VAWT. If someone wants
more power the VAWT needs to be bigger or the winds stronger.
When I first started in this, VAWTs were considered the black
sheep, poor cousin to the HAWT. Didn't self start, ran too
slow, could go into an out of control runaway condition.... I
hope I have shown other experimenters how none of this is true
and that a VAWT can out perform a HAWT and be reasonably priced
       too.
Imagine if some manufacturer became interested in what LYNX Wind
is doing and mass produced a 500 watt design. I know that the
price could drop down to $125-$175 each.

       Gee Lynx,
       before I discovered you
I had done a lot of research into wind turbines
       what I learned is
that the uninformed are attracted to HAWT
mostly because of the similarity to airplanes
       but
they're not nearly as efficient as VAWT
need more wind to get started,
make ALOT more noise (very annoying noise)
       and
       kill birds
