Like most things in life, there are a few rules to being a
member of Luna Star Pictures (LSP) that everyone should follow
in order to maintain peace and harmony :)
[font=andale mono]Rule Number One![/font]
Everyone is to be respectful towards one another. Being a part
of LSP is about more than just making movies, it's about
teamwork and creating bonds through the power of music and
video.
[font=andale mono]Rule Number Two![/font]
All MEP ideas must have at least 4 member responses (unless for
Lunar Tales which only require at least 1 or 2 member responses)
before editing can begin. This is mostly to insure that the
admin can keep track of the videos being made, and post them
with the proper credits to acknowledge the editors that created
it.
[font=andale mono]Rule Number Three![/font]
No genre cross-overs are allowed! (ex: anime video clips mixed
with non/disney or live action video clips are not allowed)
[font=verdana]Guide to LSP Videos[/font]
Once Upon a Time...
Once Upon a Time is dedicated to expanding personal taste. Every
video is done in a "commercial" style (30 seconds-1.30 minutes
long) using the title "Once Upon a Time" followed by an
introduction to the movie or show that has been used as clips.
For example::
If I were to do a video for The Little Mermaid, I would use
clips from ONLY The Little Mermaid (no crossovers allowed!) with
a fancy opening title that reads: "Once Upon a Time....There
lived the Little Mermaid" and would devote the rest of the video
to portray The Little Mermaid in a way that, if others were to
see it on TV, they would go 'Wooow! I wanna see that movie!"
Also, like commercials, you are allowed to use any song that you
wish
( ;D ;D THATS RIGHT! IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE A SONG USED IN THE
MOVIE/SHOW YOU ARE PROMOTING! ;D ;D )
How do you become eligible to do this? Go to the audition board
of this section and in the topic reply with what movie or show
you would like to promote and the song(s) you will be using. If
your movie or show has not had a video created for it already,
and the movie/show hasn't been claimed yet, then after it has
been approved by me or an Admin, you're free to make your video.
However, you will be given only 1 week to complete this video
before it will be taken off the list and become available again,
so be aware of you're deadline (when approved, you will be given
you deadline right away. I find it easier to remember when I use
sticky notes on my computer.)
When making your video, make sure you download the Luna Star
Pictures Once Upon a Time logo video to use at the start of your
video. This will NOT be included in your original time (like if
your video was exactly 1.30 and got bumped over due to the
opening, don't panic! The time from the opening will not be
included when you submit it.)
Why the time rule?
Commercials are short for a reason: in the little amount of time
it is on, it's job is to get you to do what it wants. In this
case, in a short amount of time, the commercial must convince
the viewer to see this movie or show. Because of this, the
commercial must be interesting and well put together. In a way,
this is editing practice for beginners as well as brush up
practice for advanced editors. If you can make an awesome video
in less than 2 minutes, than you can make your own AMAZING video
that's 2 minutes or more.
So have fun! Try to get as many people as you can to want to
watch your movie or show!
How do You Know if it's Taken or Available?
In the Once Upon a Time section, there will be a section for
videos that have already been made, or claimed called "Taken".
In the "Available" list is where you request or ask if a video
has been made yet or is in the process of being made (an admin
should also respond in this section before posting the video in
the "Taken" List. Once every so often, an admin will post a list
in both the Taken and Available section of said movies that have
been claimed, and by who, as well as ones that may have not been
completed in time and have therefore become available again if
someone else wants to do it.
:o :o BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE?!?!? :o :o
For those who have participated in more than 3 Once Upon a
Times, you will be eligible to become an Admin for LSP! How do
you do this? Well: message me asking to become an Admin for Luna
Star Pictures, and with this message include a video which
addresses the theme "Guide and Cherish".
Overview of Rules:::
1. Editors MUST audition to be eligible to make a Once Upon a
Time video
2. ONLY those editors who have audition and had their auditions
approved will be allowed to make a video
3. Only videos promoting movies/shows that have not been used in
previous videos will be allowed
4. Videos must be no more than 1 minute 30 seconds long
5. Cannon only
6. Videos may contain any music the editor wishes
7. Videos MUST include the LSP once Upon a Time video logo at
the beginning of the video (this will not count in the original
video length)
8. Only videos promoting movies/shows that have not been used in
previous videos will be allowed
9. Videos MUST be submitted by the deadline. Ones that do not
meet the deadline will be scratched off the "Taken" list and
added to the "Available" list
10. Only those who have made 3 or more videos for this section
are eligible for Admin Stats (unless asked specifically by
Crysta to become an Admin).
11. HAVE FUN!!!
[font=verdana]Abridged Studios[/font]
Abridged Studios is great for the highlights of songs!
These videos feature only 1 verse including the chorus and
(optional) climax verse of a song. Because of this, videos will
be roughly 1.30-2.20 minutes long. Crossovers are allowed for
these videos as well (unless asked otherwise by the person
hosting)
These videos will all fit into certain genres (Rock, JPop,
Country, etc.)
Well...thats pretty much it!
[font=verdana]Star Albums[/font]
These videos are for those themey kind of people
Each video will be set to a theme (love, hate, friendship,
longing, etc.)
Crossovers allowed (unless asked otherwise by the person hosting
it)
[font=verdana]Lunar Tales[/font]
Lunar Tales, because they are fairly short, will actually only
feature 2-3 editors for each video.
Each video will be 30-1 minute long, and can be set to any ONE
song.
If you use an opening, this again will NOT be included in the
time (if your video is 1 minute long but then you add an opening
and its pushed to 1.22, no fear!)
Videos may be crossover or cannon or anything you like, but they
all MUST follow the theme used for your song. The point of this
section is to TELL YOUR STORY! Use the video to tell a certain
story. To do this well, you will need to communicate with your
other editor(s). The purpose of Lunar Tales is to build
communication and teamwork on a more personal level, since there
are so few people working on each video at a time.
Rule Overview:::
1. Only 2-3 editors per video
2. Only ONE song may be used
3. Videos may only be 30 seconds to 1 minute long (opening times
not included)
4. videos may be crossover or cannon (as asked by host)
5. Videos must follow theme of song and tell a story (include
story in description when uploading)
6. WORK TOGETHER!!
If you don't remember all this information, feel free to ask
fellow members. Each section also features it's rules as the
first post.
:P *whew* :P With that being said, I'm confident that we'll all
have fun making movies that people everywhere can enjoy ;D
