I'm not that far yet, but I'm sure that when I get to that
fight, it'll probably be pretty challenging.
I meant, as in, SUBMIT to the Kingdom Hearts plot of
confusing DARKNESS! >:D
Though come to think of it, Ray hasn't been playing BBS(FM)
lately, either. Hm.

Games Progress
Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix: So I decided to submit to making more
progress. I decided to try the orange warp hole Gummi level
again, got eaten by Monstro whose innards were far more
colourful than expected and not as bad as I've read about
(honestly the Water Temple from OOT is worse than Monstro due to
the sheer tedium involved). Parasite Cage took me a few attempts
during the first fight with it, but I did learn the value of
Aero. The second fight with Parasite Cage was a pain in the ass
but I learnt the value of Aero and command shortcuts.
After that, I went back to Traverse Town, decided to try out the
Pegasus Cup and only got as far as the fight with Yuffie and
Leon before I lost. Several more attempts, still lost. Went back
to Monstro, then tried out out of the paths which lead to
Alantia. The controls in that area remind me of Zone of the
Enders but not as good. For navigation and regular battles,
they're not too bad. For the Ursula fights, they're a pain. I
had to switch my Keyblade from Three Wishes to Spellbinder so I
could spam Fira at Ursula's cauldron then wail on her while she
was stunned. I'm now currently at the second fight with Ursula
which is currently kicking my ass.

I F*CKING HATE ATLANTICA
Except in Chain of Memories. There you don't have troublesome
controls--

So did you ever get past that world in KH1? I haven't played
Chain of Memories (GBA or PS2 versions) yet, so I'm not sure if
Alantica is any better in that game or in KH2.
Nope. And because of the hard drive failure of October
2022, I never will unless I get my motivation to play games back
and redownload the games.
As for COM, Atlantica is like the other worlds in that game. No
swimming, so you can run around and jump and not have to deal
with annoying swimming mechanics.
Dunno about Re:COM though, since I only got as far as the second
floor. X_X
KH2 Atlantica… was at least a slight improvement over KH1
Atlantica, though that's probably just me--
* gets eaten by a Meteor Shark *
If I remember correctly, the underwater areas in KH3D's
Prankster's Paradise are the same as in COM, sorta. Like. Sora
doesn't swim, he runs and such. Though, I think the physics are
different there, unlike in COM-Atlantica, but it's been too
long--

Games Progress
Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix: Took a few more attempts but
eventually I defeated Giant Ursula. I then sealed up the Keyhole
in Alantica, returned to Traverse Town and got a second
Elemental Ring, so now both Goofy and Donald have Elemental
Rings. Did some backtracking, found a warphole that led back to
Wonderland and eventually made it to Halloween Town. Went
through the cutscenes, got to a point where I could access
Oogie's Manor then a black screen. I'll need to switch my
Translated ISO rom with my JP ISO rom, so I can get past this
issue then switch back once I'm done with Oogie's Manor.

Games Progress
Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix: Made it to Oogie's Manor, had to look
up a walkthrough to progress because I didn't understand
Japanese. The mini-boss fight with Lock, Shock and Barrel was
easy and the save point after was much welcomed. The Oogie
Boogie fight is pretty easy, even though it took a few tries. I
really appreciate that the game somehow decided now of all times
to allow me to skip cutscenes, which allowed me to avoid the
hassle of watching Oogie Boogie's pre-battle cutscene over and
over again. His second form wasn't too bad. I left, saved the
game and came back before starting that fight. Aero is helpful
in soaking up damage when you attack the upper dark orbs. Aside
from that, the fight is actually pretty easy due to Oogie Boogie
himself not attacking, and that the Heartless can be used to
regain MP if you ever run low.
After all this, I returned to Traverse Town, saved the game,
switched my ISO files and defragged my Translated ISO so now I
can play in English again.

Games Progress
Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix: I returned to Olympus Coliseum and
completed the Pegasus Cup. I then went to Neverland and
completed it. It's actually one of the easier worlds in the game
and the boss fights weren't too bad. Unlike the fight with
Ursula, the flight controls against Captain Hook weren't too bad
and my only reason for faliure was cockiness, forgetting to heal
and occasionally botching up my timing. Otherwise Captain Hook
is easy.
After that, I returned to Olympus Coliseum, tried out the
Hercules Cup and couldn't get past Cloud. I eventually decided
to return to Traverse Town and obtained the ability to fly to
Hollow Bastion. The music change for the Gummi level really sets
the tone for Hollow Bastion. I made there, had Donald and Goofy
turn traitor because Riku had the Keyblade. Did a lot of
exploring, defeated Riku after 2 attempts, decided to explore
Hollow Bastion's library, found pieces to unlock a door. A lot
of time was spent in Hollow Bastion and I'm now ready to take on
Maleficent, the mistress of all evil.
MegaMan Star Force 2: A few more tries with Rogue SX, all
failures. However, for that fight, I've decided to add in some
more healing cards and barriers while using Mega Cards such as
Gemini Spark SP and Hollow SP because even at his strongest,
Rogue is not immune to paralysis. The furthest I've gotten Rogue
SX's HP to is 900. I'll just need to keep trying until I've
finally deleted him.

Games Progress
Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix: I fought the Mistress of Evil and it
took a few tries. As it turns out, her normal and dragon forms
allow you to skip their pre-battle cutscenes which in hindsight
makes the Ursula fights more frustrating because I couldn't skip
their cutscenes. also thank goodness for that save point after
defeating Maleficent because I do not want to backtrack from the
library every time I need to get to Maleficent to fight her.
I ended up taking several attempts at taking down her dragon
form but I haven't beaten that yet. I also made some attempts at
the Hercules Cup. After a few attempts, I defeated Cloud and
obtained the Metal Chocobo keyblade and got to Hercules though
I've yet to beat him.

Games Progress
Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix: So I decided to try the Hercules Cup
again and won! I now obtained the Olympia Keyblade and can now
activate Yellow Trinities, so that allowed me to close up the
Keyhole in the Olympus Coliseum. I then took on Dragon
Maleficent and after several attempts, I finally won. That fight
is one of the hardest ones thus far aside from Giant Ursula, the
frustration of which is only lessened by being able to skip the
pre-battle cutscene for Dragon Maleficent.
I decide to try my hand against Ansem-Riku. Unfortunately, the
pre-battle cutscene from that one can't be skipped though
Ansem-Riku is still easier than Dragon Maleficent (having 3HP
bars while Dragon Maleficent has 4HP bars) and actually feels
fair even without your party members to aid you. After a few
failed attempts, I decided to do a bit of level grinding and try
again later.
