(Things like "what is Serenity's full name" or that, not
development-related stuff; those go in the Progress and Future
Versions thread).

THE TAINT:
The Taint is something that the Horton family from the Tirahnys
continent of Newerth has had for generations. Those Hortons are
often referred to as "the Tainted".
When talking about the Taint of the Hortons, one should note
that the Taint and the Tainted are proper nouns.
Serenity Horton is the most recent person to have the Taint, and
marks the 125[sup]th[/sup] generation of Hortons with the Taint.
Everyone who has had the Taint has been female, as there has
been no male Hortons born in the past two millennia; when
married, the couple goes with the last name of the wife rather
than the husband's last name (or hyphenating the last names)
which is why everyone with the Taint has been Hortons.
This Taint has been kept a secret until the wedding day of a
Tainted; if their betrothed no longer wants to marry the Tainted
then their memories of the Tainted are removed entirely to
preserve the secrets regarding the Taint.
On or after they turn twelve, the Tainted lose their left eye -
when it's open, there's literally no eye, which is why they
either keep their left eyes closed (like Serenity) or cover it
with a bandage or something.
On or after their twentieth birthday, the Tainted regain their
left eye. However, the left eye is an entirely different color,
and the Tainted gain magical powers that Newerthians can't have
by normal means.
Both will only take place when the Tainted are asleep; in the
case of an insomniac, they will lose their insomnia; in the
event that their insomnia is normally permanent, it is negated
for a week.
Being poisoned will turn the left eye color to the previous
color, as long as the Tainted remains poisoned (hence why
Serenity's mother has two green eyes rather than mismatched
eyes).
[spoiler=Spoilers regarding Serenity Horton's Taint]When
Serenity turns 20, her left eye will be blue, rather than green.
She will have the ability of flight (though not from the Taint
or Valkyrie Wings she got from her mom; the reason will be
revealed in the Alexis boss fight, sort-of), but she will be
able to see things that people can't normally see (like
invisible stuff), as well as control the Serenthian elements of
Water and Cuteness. (Yes, Cuteness is an element. Serenth is a
weird galaxy if cuteness can be used to cause damage to monsters
and such.)
In addition to that, she will get the ability to bring certain
cards to life and thus cause actual harm with them, however, it
has to follow the official rules of the games the cards are

Why does Serenity (presumably a human) explode on death?
Is she an alien or ridiculously human robot?

Also, any chances of giving Serenity an outfit with a medical
eyepatch (like some characters with heterochromia have)?
And how are the memories removed of the people the Tainted get
married to?

to change it, sadly. It requires ASM and I can't do any kind of
ASMing, relying on Noxid's Booster's Lab's Hackinator.

[/quote]Before the events of LS? Basically, everyone talks about
her, but not nicely.
People have insulted her, were rude to her, etc. ever since the
events at the start of LSZ.
PLOT SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NOT YET PLAYED VERSION 3 OF
LUNAR SHADOW TO THE END.
[spoiler]Valkyrie, Serenity's mom, was kidnapped by the Castle
Master, and Serenity's dad, whose name I forgot, decides to go
save her. After he leaves, people start treating Serenity
horribly due to her Taint.
Valkyrie wore a medical eyepatch, however, whereas Serenity
didn't.[/spoiler]
After the events of LS, though? She might be treated nicely,
being a heroine and all that, though probably due to people
being afraid of her considering what she went through.
PLOT SPOILERS FOR THE BEST ENDING THAT HAS YET TO BE ADDED.
[spoiler]After beating Invidia in the Confusion Zone, she
essentially removes a curse on it that her Taint protected her
from - envy.
If she does do so, people will most likely treat her more nicely
for being able to remove curses and such.[/spoiler]
Of course, most of it is just planned...

Well, that's sad. Just like 5D's' Akiza she is tortured just
because she's different. That's sad. And on top of that she
became a model and a president of the continent. I don't know
what possibly keeps her going in this world ;_;.
