The Literature Topic...

This topic is for all sorts of literature...
I began reading Jonathan Wylie's "Island and Empire: Book Two:
Echoes of Flame" yesterday...
Sadly, we do not have books one ("Dark Fire") or three ("The
Last Augury")...

Current book I'm reading is Faust, the one before that was
Paradise Lost/Paradise Regained. So far, Faust has proven to be
a smoother ride due to the prose being less old Englishy.

I guess I don't really read very much anymore, unfortunately. I
mostly just read academic papers these days. Might try to work
on changing that once I submit my thesis.
Used to be really into Warriors, it was like my favourite thing
ever for several years. I reckon it went downhill very very
catastrophically after the 12th book, when the New Prophecy
series ended, but briefly picked up again in the Dawn Of The
Clans series, which I generally enjoyed a lot, before sinking
drmatically back into the grim abyss of bad writing.

Finished the first part of Faust and the first act of Part 2.
Just need to read the next 4 parts then the bonus material
before moving onto Dante's The Divine Comedy.

Does manga count as literature of a sort?
Anyway, this just in

I've been making some progress on Skulduggery Pleasant: Until
the End and I'm glad I did because it's pretty good and it has
some quotes that I'll have to write up sometime.

I'm reading Bonfire of the Vanities, though I don't make much
time to read these days. It's a shame too, because I enjoy the
prose when I actually make the time for it. It's probably
because it's a large book and those ones take a while to finish.

I'm currently reading Thus Spoke Zarathustra. Far shorter than
the last book I read, and one that requires me to engage with
its philosophy and draw my own conclusions.
