Oh boy! Capitalism. Much like university student debt, Unity is
expecting people to pay them money once they hit certain revenue
and install thresholds. As you noted, Unity users will likely
start abandoning ship, and finding alternatives as consumers
tend to do when they feel that companies are shortchanging them.

Oh yeah, Unity is one of those big companies that really hate it
when people pirate their stuff, much like Adobe. All the more
reason to pirate them since they probably don't pay their
employees very well and their programs are overpriced.
