So Nintendo's apparently announced that its successor to the
Switch will be able to play games for the original Switch, in
addition to having the NS Online stuff continuing, with more
info to come in the future.

And Nintendo's also suing a streamer of emulated games, some
       pre-release

That does not surprise me in the slightest.

According to Doug Bowser (president of Nintendo of America), any
previous tariffs were NOT factored into the $449.99 price of the
       Switch 2 itself.
It's still unclear whether the console will get a price change
or not, and there's no new preorder date yet--

I'm hoping that the Switch 2 will still be successful, but
considering that the tariffs are why prices are so sky high,
it'll be likely that sales for the Switch 2 are probably going
       to be lower than expected.

       Holy--
Apparently, Nintendo's received 2.2 million applications to
preorder a Nintendo Switch 2 in Japan, and they've had to
apologize because they won't be able to accommodate the demand.
The Nintendo Switch 1 apparently sold 330K units in Japan in the
       first week, for comparison.

Nintendo is a Japanese company so despite international tarrifs,
they're still very popular in their home country. It's good to
know that the Switch 2 will thrive, even in spite of rising
       prices.
