Lunar Shadows: The Gathering Chapters

[font=Trebuchet MS]Chapter 1: Rumors.[font=Verdana]If the soul
decides to commit suicide and the body survives, the soul will
alter, shapeshift, change into a force of anger and ignorance.
The appearance will differ, reflecting on the soul itself. The
suicide works… only to the degree of changing the person into a
monster. People DO go to hell after commiting suicide.

05.01.2015. The first day of school after the winter vacation.
Boys and girls from the Primary School of Yes Town are entering
the school, many of them with sad faces. The building was still
full of Christmas Trees and decoration which are being taken
off, reminding of the holidays passing by. The 4th year students
gathered at the 2nd floor in the halls and everyone has talking
to each other until they opened the classroom’s doors. I arrived
a little before that and as I did my best friend noticed me
immediately.“Here he comes, here he comes.” He laughed jokingly
“Hi Jimmy. How are you?”“Thanks. I’m great. How ‘bout you?”“Meh.
Same as ever.”“Says the guy that is 14 today. Happy birthday
Mitch.”“Thanks man, ‘preciate it. Oh, don’t forget, that the
party will be this Saturday.”“Don’t worry, I won’t”As I said
that, the teacher just arrived, opened the door and ordered the
class to sit down on their seats. During that I tried to find a
specific person, but I couldn’t. I sat on the middle desk on the
3rd row, and Mitch sat on my right. Then after the teacher
started checking every how many students are missing. As normal
most of the class was here. I didn’t paid that much attention
until the teacher pointed me.“Jim Shelton?”“Here.” I said as I
raised my hand “Pip Willburn?”“The Bear is here.”“You are no
bear, Pip, just a stupid bully. Rupert Mayson?”“Here.”And so on
and so forth. It wasn’t much interesting. That was until it was
found out that a student was missing.“Serenity Horton?”Dead
silence.“Serenity Horton? Does anybody knows where she is?!?”No
one said anything directly to the teacher. However absolutely
everyone started gossiping. From every side I heard “Serenity
this, Serenity that.”“As I thought.” Said the teacher. ”That
girl is behaving like a hooligan. That’s what happens when you
have no parents to watch her. Now she’s at her home, watching
TV, while you are here to learn. Don’t you hate her?”“What an
asshole!” I said quietly enough for Mitch to hear me.“Hey! Jim
off? Don’t stress it that much! I know you have a crush on her
and all, but….”“That’s not a reason for him to set the whole
class against her!”“Either way, there is nothing you can do.”“
*sigh* Yeah you are right.”“Alright.” The teacher continued “Now
let’s start with the class. Today we will learn about the
lithospheric plates.”...During the lunch break I and Mitch went
to the school food shop. While waiting on the line Mitch was
counting coins in his hand.“Hey, can you rent me 30 ducats, so I
can buy a Pizza.” Said Mitch.“Yeah, just gimme a sec.”While I
search for the coins I heard the girls behind me gossiping
again. It was for Serenity yet again. But they mentioned
something about a… castle. I turned around and asked them.“What
are you talking about??”“Oh, haven’t you heard yet?? Jenifer saw
Serenity going to the Lunar Soul Castle with some kind of gun.
It’s very strange.”“WHAT?!? Why?!?”“I have no idea. I heard that
there are some nasty creatures trying to take over the world.
Hahahahaha”She was clearly joking with me. I turned around and
tried to forget all this. Still I started fearing that she
might be in danger. My hands started shaking and my heartbeat
went faster.“Hey Jim. The ducats.” Said Mitch.“Yeah, sorry. Here
you are.” I said as I give them to him with shaking hands“Jim,
buddy, are you alright??”“Yeah, I’m fine, just…”“Hey, don’t
worry. Those are just rumors. Maybe she is just sick.”“Maybe.
Let’s pass near her home. So we can check and…”“OK pal. We will
check her home.”“Thanks man.”...After school we did as we said.
We went near her house but it was dead silent.“What the hell?!?
Why she is not here?”“I bet she went to the shop. Let’s just go
home, Jim!”“Not yet.” I said “Let’s inspect closer!”I started to
walk around her house filled with the sense of fear and
paranoia. The backyard’s door was open and we entered it only to
find a wooden plate placed vertically in the dirt like a
gravestone. On the plate was written:Here lies:Evan O'NeillDied
on: 15.01.2013Killed by the master of the castle.R.I.P. Dad. I
will avenge you.Right in front of the plate was an opened gun
case. When I saw those words and the case I started to tremble.
That was enough evidence that she might be gone…. That she might
really be in the castle. When Mitch saw it he was shocked. He
hasn’t said anything. He knew I was worried as hell. I took up
the case and right under it I found an opened letter. The letter
says:“If you have found this letter that means I went missing
and never came back. At this point I am most likely dead. Just
know this. On 15th of January Newerth will be destroyed by the
castle master. I will try to stop him. Just like my father. If
you can, please try to stop him. Please.Your truly
hated.Serenity05.01.2015”05.01.2015. That was TODAY. SHE WAS
GONE. As I read I found myself fell on my knees crying for the
girl I love. I felt like absolutely nobody and nothing
mattered.“Let’s just go home Jim” said Mitch as he grabbed me by
the armpits and help me stand up on my feet.He hold me by my
shoulder on the way home. When we finally arrived he asked me to
say something.“She can’t be dead. *hic* She must be fighting for
her life. *hic*”“Jim, c’mon buddy stand up.”“I have.. *hip*…I
have to save her!”“What are you talking about?!? You just can’t
go and save her.”“But...*hic*…I have to!!”“Not in this
state.”“Wha…”“Rest, sleep on it, get your mind together, and
maybe IF she is still alive you can save her.”“You are right.
*hic* Yeah, you’re right. But what if she die this night?!?”“Do
not force yourself. If she dies you are likely to die too. You
are weak now. As I said, sleep on it.”“Alright. I will.”“OK.
Just rest.”The following night was the most horrible night I
ever had. The dreams… I can’t describe them. One moment I dream
of me and Serenity being a couple. The next I see flying
syringes, pumping hearts, flying blob-like creatures, talking
shadows and corpses…. Many corpses. One of those corpses… was
mine!06.01.2015With the final image just appearing in my head I
jumped from my bed to find out it was just a nightmare. I needed
around 4 minutes to get my crap together and go to the bathroom.
Right after that I dressed myself and started searching in my
wardrobes. Right then the doorbell ringed.“I’m coming.”I opened
the door and Mitch immediately got inside.“So are you better,
since yesterday.”“Yeah… Most probably.”“OK. What are you going
to do then.“As I just found the case I opened it and took out
the revolver with the bullets. “I am going to save her.”To be
