Yeah, it's not fun. But at least it's been fixed, and such.

Those blocks at the top vanish when you beat the final bosses.
It leads to - you may have guessed this - the Confusion

A music room. Lame reward? Possibly.
But since Servant Quarters DR is going to be inaccessible when
the castle falls apart, I figured, at least let the player be
able to listen to music if they saved after beating the final
bosses.
Plus I might add an extra reward here (infinite Acidic Bubble,
perhaps?).
... I just forgot to add the cloud tiles at the top, but that's
easy.[/spoiler]

So begins the timer event - leave the throne room after beating
the bosses, and you will be unable to return there, and have a
timer as well. However, the trope Take Your Time

full effect.

The third screenshot was the fastest time I could reach the

That's about it for now. I hope to at least finish the map
transitions in the Central Tower area before adding Azehr...

Let me guess. There's going to be a lot of Quake entities.

Confusion Zone doesn't look all that confusing at the moment :o
The background also looks a bit out-of-place, in my opinion.

Say, what's the canonical ending of the mod? Is it completing
the Confusion Zone, or just beating the boss and getting out of
there?

1st: If you can make the door create a feel of curiosity in the
player, well.... he he 8)
2nd: New text boxes. Yay. :D Making the mod in different stile
than CS is for the good.
3rd: Lame reward? Sadly yeah. Maybe something lore-wise must be
more rewarding. And still:

4th: I suggest watching some of the Metroid's endgame escapes.
Maybe you'll get some great ideas.

The Central Tower is gonna be complicated, since flight would be
a major requirement there. And then after Azehr's boss fight,
the tower would be damaged and thus have less platforms that can
be jumped on. (Permanently, possibly.)
That's the plan though.
Lore-wise, I think I might make that room important...

The mini-Balrogs are actually from the Cave Story beta. Or
rather, from what little is known about it. This page

comes in handy.
In fact, the cake and the diving mask thing from Serenity's
beach outfit is also from the pics, as are some of the tiles
(like most of the Servant Quarters, mostly).
I was planning on working more on Azehr's room, but I overslept
badly (woke up at 19:00 GMT+0, so I slept for about 19 or 18
hours :o ) so there's nothing new to report there.

To be honest I wish the things from Beta Cave Story are in Cave
Story 2; the TV Tropes page for Cave Story says that Pixel has
confirmed that a sequel is very likely.
That's just wishful thinking, etc. though ^^;

Nineteen hours is a lot; you must've been rather tired.
You didn't skip out on a few evenings of sleep, have you?
Sleep is important.
Maybe that's why Snorlax sleeps a lot?

Excuse me? Pixel said it was very UNlikely their to be a sequel.
He barely finished Kero Blaster because he had next to none
motivation near finishing it. The last rumour was from NICALIS'
Macbook where they saw Cave Story 2... and Super 1001 Spikes
Turbo... so It ended up more like a dev joke rather than real
thing.
Edit: I'm sorry, this sounded assholishly :(

Nah, it's okay; I'm just going by the TV Tropes page and that
might be speculation anyway.
For all we know it might've been a mod with that name that some
of NICALIS' people might like.
Who knows?
