1st. For the countdown (Like La-Mulana or every Metroid) let's
say you have 5 minutes to go all the way back. If the timer runs
out you're dead. But what's the purpose of the countup. I just
can't think of an idea.
2nd. If it's a count up, I'm totally OK. But a ton of enemies or
Falling blocks ( 1x1 a big quantity of them but dealing little
damage as of the sort of 1-3) will help getting the RUN FOR YOUR
LIFE feel.

the timer runs out you're dead. But what's the purpose of the
countup. I just can't think of an idea.
For all intents
and purposes, it will be the same as in the original Cave Story.
If you beat Ballos, the timer stops and is recorded, for
instance; depending on how fast it was, the title screen music
changes.
The same would apply to Lunar Shadow - if you escape the castle
(by leaving it entirely, which, before then, would result in a
bad ending), the timer stops and is recorded, and the title
screen music changes depending on how fast the castle was
escaped. Only, unlike Cave Story, the Nikumaru (?) thing won't
be in the inventory.
Of course, this would require ASM hacking, as the times required
would be at least beyond five minutes. (I myself am uncertain of
how long it'll take, due to the Top Floor and Tower areas not
being completed yet.)

as of this post, I'm still uncertain, but if I do add a bonus
area, it might have falling blocks.
3-HP runs will not have the falling blocks though; that would be
too difficult, perhaps too difficult even for Lunaris. :o

Alexis's room is located).
take on Alexis, though, as it's the only way to her room if you

Arcanum is needed to get past those Deleet, unless you want to

ALEXIS[/tt]
Enter the room, walk a bit forward, cutscene. After
cutscene, Serenity automatically makes her way to the boss
(unless you press buttons), and finds that the boss is sleeping.
One thing to do: wake her up; it involves a terminal at the top
of the room to seal the exit off (and prevent escape).
After that, trying to leave, then return to Alexis and the boss
fight begins.
I had a lot of trouble with getting Serenity to automatically
run and jump to Alexis, but I managed it at long last!
It's apparently possible to defeat the final boss with
just Misery's End, and considering the misery he plans on
unleashing on Newerth, I'd say Misery's End really brings an end
to that misery :o
First form with level 1 Misery's End (which deals 5 damage),
though it's a bit hard due to how large the area is. (He
teleports all over the place.)
Second form with level 2 Misery's End (which deals about 7
damage?), leveled up with the help of those creatures and the
shockwaves. Standing at his eye and spamming it results in a lot
of damage (reaching numbers like 182 total damage). Level 3
Misery's End would be useless against this boss, though.
Third and fourth forms with level 3 Misery's End (first hit
deals 10 damage, with additional damage caused by the "blade
storm"). The fourth form especially; the things surrounding it
can be hit with the level 3 Misery's End and the boss will take
damage as well. And then there are the minions spawned that will
also get hit, possibly.
Starting at 80 HP, and, using hearts, ended up at 64 HP. After
the boss fight, a save point appears by the throne and escape is
required.
However... with all the leftover space, I might add a bonus
area. A cheerful-sounding one, perhaps?
(If I do, it will have two themes - one with an intro, the other
without. The first would play only on the first time, but
listening to it in Servant Quarters DR can be a
thing.)
Bonus area huh. Dreams do come true :D. About the Misery's End
final boss It looks neat. Maybe a black wind will be good for
the final boss so it can be more of a treat. And since ME is the
most powerfull at level 1 most people will be using it. And
would you tell us what are your ideas for the bonus area? (Of
course if you want to). :)
Also is there a chance that we get kind of a piece of artwork
for the mod if there is any and if there is no problem about it.
EDIT: We are celebrating every new page so.

weapons set to level 1, though another "all weapons to level 1"
thing from the next bosses might be helpful (as, in order to get
the ultimate weapon that replaces the Spur, plot boss will have
to be beaten).
For the testing thing, I just set the starting point to Top
Floor H (a statue room, which is currently full of bugs), and
started with 80 HP, Misery's End, Arcanum, Acidic Bubble, Life
Pot, Valkyrie Wings and Save Disk, and set flag 1450 for an
elevator in Top Floor A.
Said elevator is slow, sadly, but at least it'll let you obtain
three treasures (unconfirmed what they are) without losing the
elevator. (Unless it goes off-screen.)
After Top Floor A, to the west/left, is Top Floor SC, where
another plot boss is.
Then, the "Top Floor, Throne" area where the final boss fights
will be.
Screenshot time!
Beware, there might be plot spoilers. If you don't care about
plot spoilers, feel free to look at the spoilers, but know that
anything related has to be posted in spoilers as well, please.

That is the final boss's sprite... or is it? He doesn't really
look like that, it's a disguise.
You can see Tranquility behind the cage. Sort of.
Also, this cutscene allows you to move around, but there's fans
behind the throne to prevent you from standing there when the
boss goes there.
Basically, the only cutscene that you can walk around in, and
attack stuff. (I accidentally killed the boss before triggering
the cutscene, so I had to fix that. And said boss was invisible,
and didn't do a thing except stand there and wait.)

The easiest boss thus far, at least of the main story bosses. 50
HP. At that time you probably have more than 50 HP (60? I don't
know if max HP will be 80 officially) and you have the Valkyrie
Wings. Though, you battle this form six or seven times (unless
you die on her final form, the one with the aura, in which case
it's supposed to be less).

No, you don't get the Lunar weapon; I added it in with Ultimate
Doukutsu Trainer out of laziness of dealing 5 damage all the
time.
Anyway, that's Serenity's face pic.

And yes, there is no asymmetry there - Ataraxis/Tranquility's
left eye is closed, though masked-versions will not exist
(because it's too complicatedly difficult for me and I'd get
confused anyway).
And the hair as well.
Oh, and the Top Floor theme is "Bloody Tears". (Dracula X
version.)
Personally, I think
it's fitting - aside from Serenity being sad over the death of
her mother Valkyrie, I mean; while Serenity might have tears,
they're not going to be tears of blood.
If Serenity had one wish, it'd be to revive her mother... maybe
the sequel could be related to that? I dunno yet. I may have
planned it out somewhat, but it's not concrete just
yet.
Top Floor H glitch: basically, all the statues, when they become
shootable, look the same and are out of place when destroyed.
Looks ridiculous.
That's the same sprites as Mermahdé
from Vion Ierra, Shane's abandoned-since-2014 mod.
Shane did say to me, at one point, that he wouldn't mind if I

Also, didn't Shane himself say that? Let's see...
Silver-haired guy with green coat: Mermahdé, a wizard of
According to Serena, "Invidia" is
Latin for "envy". However, according to Wikipedia, "Invidia" was
also the Roman name for the Greek goddess of vengeance, Nemesis.

nothing is as it seems?
