Progress and Future Versions (spoilers)

PROGRESS:
What's a mod without it? :P
I'll post a map of its progress.
HTML http://www.createaforum.com/gallery/lunarshadowcs/0/1-280115115414-02344.png
The map was inspired by the GBA and DS Castlevania games.
Each 8×8-pixel square on that map is equal to a 21×16-tile map.
A 16×16-pixel square, thus, would result in the map being about
42×32 tiles.
And I even color-coded it :)
- Red: areas that contain save points
- Blue: areas that have been added to the mod
- Orange: areas where you can expect a boss fight
- Green: areas with Life Capsules, be they obtainable or hidden,
or unobtainable
- Turquoise: areas where you can obtain a new weaopn
- Grey: areas that have yet to be added; this will overwrite
other colors and will be inaccessible in the mod proper.
Who knows? There might be even more colors as time goes on.
---------------------------------------------------------
FUTURE VERSIONS:
Right, plans for the future versions will go in this little
section right here.
- Finish the Reservoir area ("area 3"), accessible from the last
room in the current release
- Add a small portion of the Tower ("area 4") and Servant
Quarters ("area 5") areas
- Fix bugs as soon as possible; game-breaking ones are highest
priority
- Add something that allows the protagonist to breathe
underwater (she can swim!)
- Be patient

Current progress:
Almost finished with the maps of the Reservoir; only three zero
maps (of fifteen) remain.
And then I'll add a few of the Tower and Servant Quarters area.
After those are done, I'll work on the entities and the boss
fights.
Not to mention the protagonist can now swim whenever underwater,
but she'd still drown, so I'd have to do something about that as
well. :o
---------------------------------------------------------
An update: aside from being finished with the maps of the
Reservoir, I have now to add two Servant Quarters maps and
who-knows-how-many Tower maps (as two areas of the Reservoir
connect to the Tower).
But first, I ought to test the areas out to make sure they work
well. (I guess cheating is justified in this case, since {1} I
have yet to place a treasure chest for the Air-Tank or
equivalent thereof, and {2} game breaking stuff is never fun.)
Cheaters never prosper, though; Micren makes sure of that.
Defeat Micren without damage and you get a reward~
Of course, I think I might make it easier or harder, depending
on the player's choices in the cutscene where Invidia gets
stolen/taken away/eaten by a frog/whatever.

This will be a breath of fresh air in anything Cave Story since
everyone feels like a tank in the water.

That's awesome. :)

So basically, the two maps that lie between the Entrance and the
Tower?

I hope you're going to test it without cheating as well...

Is Micren like Ironhead, then?
And how could it possibly be harder than it already is? :o

One; that's where another boss lies. The one that becomes
visible or invisible depending on where the Lunar Soul Castle's
moon shines.
The second is above that.

Of course.

Yeah, it's like Ironhead.
Minus those blocks, unless people want a challenge (in other
words, I plan on allowing the player to choose whether or not to
have the damaging blocks there).
---------------------------------------------------------
Starting in this version, the Warp Doors in the starting point
will now have their names under them.

That red color is probably a bit... hard to read, though; I
ought to make it slightly brighter, I guess.
Oh, and there might be a new, fourth weapon (Misery's End) that
can be obtained in version 3; the third would be obtained in the
Reservoir (Acidic Bubble) and is unable to damage star blocks at
levels 1 and 2.

Fourth Weapon? Is there something I missed. I remembered only
the Invidia and Crescent Moon :D

Misery's End and Acidic Bubble have yet to be added, actually,
so you didn't miss anything. :)
EDIT:
A new room that not only references La-Mulana (the original,
freeware version), but is also a key component in getting the
good or best endings.
(The worst and bad endings are, well, not reliant on this room.)

And yes, that's the Acidic Bubble spell.

... that looks kinda weird, but oh well.
There aren't any "push the wall" puzzles, are there?
I agree about the Warp Room names, though; those ought to be
lighter so that they can be more readable.
It's pretty nice, really, to add those, rather than have people
wonder, "where does this door go again?" and then finding out
the hard way.

Really like the new room. And i thought La-Mulana is completly
different. I should check the freeware.

Thankfully not.

Indeed. :)

Thank you~
---------------------------------------------------------
The boss Xyz has 600 total HP, whereas the most the player will
have (likely) when battling it would be about 19. (I'm guessing;
I tested the battle with 20 HP.)
The first form is familiar:
HTML http://www.createaforum.com/gallery/lunarshadowcs/0/1-050215003346-26101.png
HTML http://www.createaforum.com/gallery/lunarshadowcs/0/1-050215003346-302270.png
HTML http://www.createaforum.com/gallery/lunarshadowcs/0/1-050215003346-311913.png
The second one isn't.
That boss is a bit easy, considering its attacks can be shot
(for XP) and doesn't go through walls (like Xyz does).
The first form has 400 HP and the second form has 200 HP.
Thus, I can safely say that I'm currently done with the Entrance
area; I did something about the weirdness of Entrance LC's
moving blocks and the foregrounds, and I've checked the Life
Capsule maps and they fully heal the player.
I'm also nearly done with the Laboratory area's updates (namely,
the entrance to the Reservoir area and its invisible floor
requiring a sign).
Meaning, from tomorrow, I can most likely work on the Reservoir
area, the Tower area and the Servant Quarters area. :))
PROGRESS is awesome~
