Hi All,
I thought that Lux's idea for the e Network / board was a great
idea, but thought having it on a forum might be easier to manage
/ less clogging up the emails....
So welcome, I would suggest for historical reference if you have
already given your introduction on email, you reply to this
topic and copy and paste it in from the email.
Cheers,
Mark Langlois

Hi all
I'm Brad inpatient OT at Flynn HDAU/LDU.
I've worked as a hospital based OT for most of my career
starting at Korumburra hospital at the beginning of 2010 before
moving to LRH mid 2011. While at LRH I worked as a grade 1 in
all the various clinical areas Acute medical/neuro, acute ortho,
subacute GEM/ortho/neuro and community hands/neuro/ortho. I then
moved into mental health beginning with a split between the CRCU
and Macalister wards in 2014 after which time where I left LRH
and was employed by Wellways (then known as MI Fellowship) to be
the coordinator of PARCS in Bairnsdale managing a team of 10 and
transitioning PARCS from being under contract with SNAP to a new
provider with a new program almost built up from scratch. After
nearly 2 years of travelling back and forth to Bairnsdale I
decided I wanted to work closer to home so I got a job back at
LRH in the Flynn unit as a grade 2.
Outside of work I am a very passionate member of the Latrobe
Valley winter baseball community -- I am the president of the
Churchill Braves Baseball Club and have been for the past 5
years. I'm also currently coaching a team of Gippsland based
players who are competing in the Baseball Victoria Summer league
while simultaneously spearheading the creation of a brand new
summer baseball club the Gippsland Baseball Club (we still
haven't chosen a nickname). I also play cricket for
Jeeraland/Boolarra and with my partner of over 4 years have a
nearly two year old miniature dachshund named Fletcher (after
the great Essendon player Dustin Fletcher).
I am a big fan of Major League Baseball (Atlanta Braves),
Australian Baseball League (Melbourne Aces), Big Bash League
(Melbourne Stars), the Australian Cricket Team and the Essendon
Football Club.
Well that's a bit about me. :D
Cheers
Brad

G'day All,
I've been working in mental health since graduation in 2002,
back in Western Australia. I started in the Living Skills
Program(Long Term Rehabilitation - activity / therapy groups)
for a couple of years, progressed to being the Senior OT for the
Intermediate Care (Admission diversion - group / 1:1) and then
progressed to a Senior OT position for a closure of a project of
medium term accommodation mental health rehabilitation called
Hawthorn House for a year. After that I took on a Senior OT role
in the more generic Continuing Treatment Team, standard CM with
a side rehabilitation / recovery program that we ran and that
was my main position for about 6 years I think.
Work wise, I'm big on MoHO, done a bit with CBT and DBT, but
over the last few years have been seduced to the dark side of
the force with ACT and am finding working with that under the
banner of OT very rewarding.
At home... well we left WA approx 3 years ago and traveled
Australia as a family for about 2 years, partly for an
experience and partly to find a new place to setup a hobby farm.
After much deliberation we arrived on Gippsland and we've bought
a property in Trida (Between Leongatha and Warragul) that I'm
looking at building on. My beautiful wife and I have 9 (One
freshly unwrapped) little miracles / terrors otherwise known as
kids, 7 girls / 2 boys and our eldest is 13 years old.
Well that's a start at least...
Cheers,
Mark
:)

Hi everyone!
I'm Nicole, I'm working out at Warragul as a recovery clinician.
My work journey is pretty short and sweet - after graduating in
2016, I started work in Korumburra as a recovery clinician
before seconding to ACIS in Wonthaggi. Now I'm here in Warragul!
My fiance and I have been living in Pakenham for nearly 6
months, as a mid way point between our work. We have a really
cute little cat and hope soon we can get a puppy!! Fingers
crossed. In my few spare moments, I like to read, spend time
with my friends and family, and planning my next holiday :)
So that's me! Looking forward to getting to know everyone else
:)
Nicole

Hi Everybody,
My name is Michele, I am currently working as a clinician with
the adult team in Sale. I have worked in mental health for many
years moving to Victoria in 2008. I love working in mental
health and find that there are always new challenges. In recent
years I have become interested in DBT and would like to keep
extending my skills and knowledge in this area. I think it's
very complementary to OT. Those that know me well will know that
I am a little bit technically challenged so bear with me as the
forum develops.
In the last couple of weeks I have finally moved to Sale from
Traralgon and I will not miss those road works. I have three
kids, the oldest two are growing up and fast becoming
independent. Luckily my seven year old Lulu still loves hanging
out with Mum.
I am also very fortunate to work with a great team in Sale and
share an office with Lux and Anne. We are known as "the frogs"
and keep the heat cranked up in winter.
It is so great to see the OT team growing.
Hope you all have a great Christmas and festive season.
Michele
