       Crows in Ohio
By: Kerry Date: December 11, 2014, 12:09 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
I wish I were closer than a few hundred miles from this town so
I could go take a look around. Years ago, I thought I perceived
a connection between large flocks of birds gathering in places
and annoying people with large amounts of electro-magnetism like
nearby electrical stations, military bases, etc. I read the
story about all these crows at AP
  HTML http://bigstory.ap.org/article/d7be7820c9034f3d9c961bdfeaf78a12/countless-crows-droppings-rankle-ohio-residents:
SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (AP) — Thousands of crows roosting at night in
a western Ohio city's downtown leave some residents comparing
the crow-laden landscape to the Alfred Hitchcock movie "The
Birds" as they work to drive away the flocks.
The crows troubling Springfield aren't aggressive, as birds in
the 1963 thriller were portrayed. But with an estimated 50,000
of them at times, their overwhelming presence on trees,
buildings and other perches is causing concern about damage to
buildings and potential health hazards from the birds' waste.
Downtown businesses and city workers are using noise devices and
laser pointers among other deterrents. The CEO of the Clark
County Historical Society says removing the droppings left at
the county's Heritage Center and other buildings also is costly
       for property owners.
It raised my curiosity so I tried to research in on the
internet. I found this article from Sunday, March 23, 2014, at
       daytondailynews.com
  HTML http://www.daytondailynews.com/news/news/prep-work-for-new-power-line-in-clark-county-under/nfJJ7/:
Crews began cutting down trees along U.S. 40 east of Walmart and
on both sides of Bird Road two weeks ago to make way for the
       Springfield-London-Tangy Electricity Transmission Line Project,
said Tim Suter, a First Energy area manager.
The tree cutting is part of prep work for the project, which
will increase electrical capacity in the area.
“We can’t have any trees or vegetation under the wire. We don’t
want anything that will grow up into the wire. Anytime you’re
dealing with the higher voltage lines, there’s a risk,” said
Mark Durbin, a spokesman for FirstEnergy. “Trees are one of the
leading causes of power outages, so the best thing to do when
you build a new line is not to have anything under there.”
Now that's interesting. What if my theory is wrong and the
reason for the birds going into town to perch is because these
people cut down so many trees and shrubs to make way for the
       power lines?
The utility line will be constructed in the area around U.S. 40
and Tuttle Road, and will begin in early fall.
“In Clark County, we’re mostly putting wires on existing poles.
We’re not adding many poles in Clark County,” Durbin said.
About 90 percent of the project will be along existing right of
way, but officials worked to get 16 easements along the routes.
Most of the easements occurred along Tuttle Road, Suter has
said, and about three-quarters of them had already reached an
agreement with FirstEnergy in March of last year.
Crews are currently installing utility poles and stringing wire
in the London and Delaware area.
I found at Google maps that that's about two miles from the
center of downtown. I'd love to know exactly where the birds
are roosting and be able to drive around to look at the new
transmission lines and things. I mean I've had this theory for
decades but haven't really been able to see if it's right or
wrong. I don't think it's a coincidence though that the crow
problem downtown started when it did. I think there is a
connection to the electrical stuff; but I am not sure what it
       is.

Interesting post Kerry. I think I would much rather have birds
than EMF close to me. We have way too much in our houses at the
best of times! It does make one wonder though...with so much
forrest land still around, why they would choose a town to
settle in ...poor things...they seem confused...either that or
       their leader is!! ;D

I think you may be right about the electrical lines and the
birds. I have had this theory for about 40 years about
electromagnetism. I was originally going to focus my life as a
research scientist into this subject, and I had lots of theories
with plausible venues of exploration on it, but suffice it to
say, it holds more promise for power both good and evil than
       splitting the atom ever had.
