Not too bad for someone educated in a Muslim school, eh? He
botched another Biblical reference trying to tie in Mary and
Joseph with the current immigration problem. From theweek.com
HTML http://theweek.com/speedreads/index/273404/speedreads-obama-quotes-nonexistent-bible-verse-in-immigration-speech:
In addition to his biblical misquote, Obama also tied his
immigration policy to the Christmas story, saying, "If we're
serious about the Christmas season, now is the time to reflect
on those who are strangers in our midst and remember what it was
like to be a stranger." This analogy drew conservative ire as
opponents of the president's immigration reform noted that Mary
and Joseph were actually visiting Joseph's ancestral home.
Maybe he would have gotten these things right if he had been
sent to Sunday school more as a child and not to a Muslim
school. ;D

He probably talked to someone else about this before saying it,
and either purposely said it wrong for some reason, or he doesnt
have anyone around him who values scripture enough, except vague
ideas about it (to advise him).
