You ever wonder how the phrase "dumb blonde" came to be? I
dont know, but probably part of it is that blondes are often
pretty and that usually pretty people depend on their beauty to
get by instead of improving thier minds. Anyone know how the
phrase came to be without googling it?

What a let-down! LOL ;D I always thought it was just a
joke.
There might be something to your theory though. That might mean
they're actually smart to take advantage of their good looks.

Here tis! I was partially right, which was all I expected, I
thought there might be more to it.
Blond hair has been considered attractive for long periods of
time in various European cultures, particularly when coupled
with blue eyes. This perception is exploited in culture and
advertising.
At the same time, people tend to presume that blondes are less
serious-minded and less intelligent than brunettes, as reflected
in "blonde jokes." The roots of this notion may be traced to
Europe, with the "dumb blonde" in question being a French
courtesan named Rosalie Duthe, satirised in a 1775 play Les
curiosites de la Foire for her habit of pausing a long time
before speaking, appearing not only stupid but literally dumb
(in the sense of mute).

I hope she was able to find someone to love her while she was
younger and attractive if that is what she valued and used to
gain attention, for as she got older and the beauty faded, she
would have had no one to comfort her.
