Animal Intelligence

I follow 'Koko' and her life. I am spellbound and intrigued by
the animal kingdom in general, but in some animals in
particular...like Koko (and her species), dolphins, elephants,
and dogs. Their intelligence it seems is threatening to
some...which I am not sure why. I know of Christian groups that
don't give much thought to animals except that they believe that
animals were given to us for our use...instead of given to us
for their care. I think this (such intelligence in animals) is
one of those things that God put on the earth to 'confound the
wise' (or those who think they are wise).
In this particular video Koko is watching her favorite movie. At
an interview with her caretaker (in another video), she said
that there was another scene in the movie where a mother was
holding her child in her arms, but then for some reason put the
child down when it was obvious that it was better to have been
holding and comforting the child at that point. She said that
right when the mother set her child down Koko let out a
dissatisfied moan...an appropriate reaction to that scene.

Agree it is pretty amazing. And as you say..man needs to
remember that God told Adam to 'tend and keep' the Garden..and
everything in it.

a bit of the "beast" in themselves? The beast that wants to
kill? Perhaps some are just indifferent too.
Few people ever notice that the covenant with Noah was also made
with the animals.
I read the other day that animals tend to be attracted to
certain children -- like autistic children and children with
other disabilities. I haven't had time to look into this. I
figure it could be true since we know animals often rescue
humans in distress. If the animals can tell the humans can't
hurt them, then it's safe to help them.
