How does the material brain communicate with the immaterial -
how does what is material suffer pain, feel, taste, know, hear
and see - twinc
The material brain and spirit interact or communicate by
small electrical currents. So far as I know, brains do not
suffer pain, feel, taste, etc. -- not the way many people
suppose. Brains are a little aware but not that much more
aware than your fingers or hair. Spirit is aware. Spirit has
feelings. That's what I think.
I can be aware when asleep and still do all those things --
while my brain is not getting any input from the material world.
I can leave my body and visit other places and experiences
things -- without my brain.

I don't think the 'brain' itself actually does! I doubt it feels
anything and 'it' sure does not 'taste'.
Researchers found that when the two people communicate, neural
activity over wide regions of their brains becomes almost sync,
with the listener’s brain activity patterns mirroring those
sweeping through the speaker’s brain, with a short lag of about
one second.
If the listener, however, fails to comprehend what the speaker
is trying to communicate, their brain patterns uncouple.
Interesting.

as per usual there are many way out, weird and wacky
explanations on offer and tendered but the best brains stand
dumbfounded and bewildered for physiological science is totally
unable to explain satisfactorily this sudden and startling leap
from unconsciousness to consciousness - despite the best efforts
of the best thinkers of modernity, physiology has failed to
solve the problem satisfactorily for how the mental affects the
material and how material affects the mental are mysteries which
it is impossible to fathom[Brunton] - twinc
Most of the scientific experiments today do not even
involve non-physical interactions. There was an experiment
with mice however with interesting results -- mice given
painkillers took longer to heal than mice not given painkillers.
This defies the purely physical model used by modern medicine;
but it makes sense to me. If there is awareness of pain by the
animal, the animal's soul reacts by influencing the brain and
body. If the animal doesn't feel the pain, it doesn't influence
the brain and body the same way.
I knew a fellow on opiates for pain for a past operation which
did not heal. I kept telling him it wouldn't heal as long as he
was on the opiates; but he stayed on them until he changed
doctors and the new doctor lowered the dose and then cut him
off. Sure enough, he healed then.
Pain is a useful thing to feel since it warns us something is
wrong. If we feel it, we might be able to do something about
it. Relying solely on the "brain chemistry" to do things
doesn't work.

This the brain does by memory.
Whatever the brain is told to learn, it will. If from an early
age a child is given salt and told it is sweet then when ever
the body has salt on the tongue the nerves back and forth to the
brain will ask a question and back will come the reply "what you
have in your mouth is sweet, that's what sweet tastes like".
Naturally it will not be in words, it only becomes words when
the mind is involved, which of course is not the same as the
brain.
It is by the mind we understand and it is by the mind we are
changed by being given another gospel than that learned as a
child, that the brain by the mind is corrected.

^ There is something to this. People are born different from
other animals. Many animals can walk almost as soon as they're
born. Human babies struggle to crawl even. They can't even
see right!
What that suggests to me is that animals are born with their
brains wired pretty much the same way while each human has to
wire his own. I believe that animals are all governed by one
spirit while each human body has its own spirit.
