       More About Chakras
By: coldwar Date: June 15, 2014, 12:23 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
This has a lot of influence from Kerry's wonderful words on the
topic, so some of it may sound familiar. I have been reading a
bit of additional stuff about the Chakras (from Eastern
religions). At first I could see no relationship to our Western
Christian thinking, but then during a very wide-awake period
after having re-located myself to bed, I thought about it –
there all in the Bible except with different names. I'll list
them in order of importance with their Eastern equivalents:
       1. Heart = Heart = many Bible references
       2. Base of Spine = Root = Womb = Luke 1:31
       3. Single Eye = Third Eye = Brow = Matt. 6:22
       4. Bowels = Spleen = Lower Abdomen = Philippeans 2:1
       5. Belly = (No equivalent) = John 7:38
       6. Voice = Throat = Bible references too numerous to mention
       7. Flesh = Solar Plexus = 2 Cor. 12:7
       8. Crown of Life = Crown = James 1:12, Rev 2:10 = Overcoming
       trials
Here is what I thought concerning these:
First, this whole system comprises the “inner man” (Eph. 3:16)
The Heart – is also the place where God has chosen to dweal in
His Temple made without hands (Eph 3:17). Paul also refers to
the Root Chakra here, in that for those who are rooted and
grounded in love, God dwells in the Heart. Both of these are
shaped like a cross, with the heart at the centre of cross-ways
of the whole blood-flow. The Root is with many diverging crosses
at the base of spine, starting with the spine's connection to
the pelvic floor, and also the male and female sex organs
(picture the womb and fallopian tubes). It is the place for
physical love which brings forth reproduction; Paul draws the
equivalent of being “rooted and grounded” in spiritual love.
The Root – many references to “bringing forth” not the least of
which is Mary's birthing of Jesus Christ, which was also to come
through the root of Jesse. Love (Charity) originates in the Root
(see above comments regarding the heart). The root also is the
place of solid and liquid elimination (Matt. 15:17), so it is as
much a place of bringing forth as it is in casting out. Not only
that, it is the place upon which we sit, and it is especially
important to sit to listen (Luke 10:39). The Root stimulates
true listening. Meaningful things can only be heard while
seated. Further, it is the place of foundation and judgment –
Luke 6:48, 1 Cor. 3:1. This is one of the two Chakras which must
be “single” - (the Root and the Eye). There can be no duality in
these, or the whole system gets upset, off balance and even
destroyed. One must be seated upon the single foundation that is
laid (1 Cor 3:11), but so many are standing upon it, to bring
glory to themselves and unable to hear God, or standing with one
foot on the rock and one in the sand, on the ready to be tiped
over. Still others build their lives totally in the sand,
excluding themselves from the Rock completely, and so their
lives will produce nothing but wood, hay and stubble which will
be burned up in the Judgment.
Single Eye – the Spiritual Sight of many religions. But in
Christianity, it is more than a mark upon the forehead; it is
the lamp of the whole inner man, which if extinguished (through
much use of our two physical eyes without giving regard for the
single eye) the spiritual parts of the whole body are darkened.
An old hymn says “turn your eyes upon Jesus – it should be “turn
your eye upon Jesus”. If you try to see Jesus with the two
physical eyes, He will be invisible or out of focus. It's not
difficult to tell how organized Christianity (“the church”) has
never learned the inner workings of the Single Eye.
Abdominals – the Bowels, Belly and Voice are all interconnected.
The Bowels are the place of tender mercies. Mercy is the
beginning of our work for Christ as His sheep (Matt. 25:33). For
deeds to be true, they must begin from Mercy and nothing else –
not religious duty, or human pride, or even charity (though
charity originates in the Root and is important in nurturing and
sustaining), but the same Mercy God holds for all mankind. The
Belly creates the flow of Mercy – the living water, which is the
outflow of merciful and charity deeds from our lives. The Voice
is but one instrument used by the Mercy / Living Water – our
entire muscle system and frame get involved, and the voice /
throat are perfect pictures of this – the voice box is a frame
with a particularly strong muscle. If one cannot speak because
the voice is defective, then the voice is heard in the world in
more important ways, like the deeds done by our entire body.
Words are cheap anyway – it is the actual deeds of the Mercy
Water, oot Love and the Heart's Blood which count. Note that it
isn't always our “voice” which is “our voice”. I am a fan of two
blues guitarists, Albert Colllins and Roy Buchanan – they played
the same make and model of guitar, but they're sound is as
different as night and day, and very easy to tell apart. This
illustrates how the Throat Chakra extends beyond the voice only.
The Flesh (Solar Plexus)– this chakra is located at the very top
of our fleshly body, at the very top of the abdominals where the
boney structure (ribcage) begins, at what is called the solar
plexus. This is a very peculiar chakra – a place of attachment.
Adam said of Eve when she was created from his side “this now is
bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh (where bone and flesh come
together).” This chakra is the one which is particularly
governed by our own choices. When Paul complained of his “thorn
in the flesh” he was referring to the solar plexus chakra. As he
chose to remain single and celibate, he must've felt loneliness,
because the solar plexus craves attatchment. He asked the Lord
three times to have this 'thorn' removed, but God replied “my
grace is sufficient for you”. Pauls only solar plexus attachment
was to be to the Lord Christ. This is a craving chakra, it rules
our fleshly desires and attatchments. It was the place of
attatchment between Adam and Eve. It can also be the place of
longing for things we don't have, or rejection of things we do
have (a spouse can be rejected from this place). The “will”
(which joins the flesh to the heart) needs to be enlisted to
make corrections here, but only the wise will do so, as Paul
did. The solar plexus / flesh is also the chakra which is
involved in chronic illness. Paul never tells us what his
'thorn” was, but it could've been a chronic health problem as
easily as an attachment issue such as loneliness. Some also say
it was guilt from his life of persecution of Christians – guilt
also originates in this chakra. A whole lot of things go on in
the Flesh, as the Bible indicates in so many places – too many
to count, making this a central chakra for the Eastern Mystical
faiths; the chakra most often subjected to manipulations to
bring about positive change or healing. The Christian might want
to touch the solar-plexus while praying or confessing.
The Crown of Life – the Bible limits the receiving of this
chakra as a Crown, which is given when the trials of life are
overcome. It is a chakra of maturity. Some people never attain
this chakra, even if they live to be a hundred. In a peculiar
way, it differentiates the male from the female, when it is
attained. Many males are subject to baldness, whereas a woman
usually keeps her hair throughout her lifetime. This makes the
Crown visible in two different ways – with a balding male, it
creates a shining towards God and the angels; but with women who
keep their hair, it creates a particular glory of good works
towards the earth, and other people. Generally, the capacity of
women to do good works far exceeds that of males, and sometimes
the female capacity to do good works is almost unfathomable. It
is even seen in some species of animals, especialy the Lions,
where it is the female who does all the hunting, and the males
just lay around and roar. The Crown of Life is the unseen
explanation of Paul's words about hair and gender in 1 Cor. 11 –
a passage which makes many people very angry. First let me say
that Paul must be quoting Greek Philosophy here, because the
“rules” about hair length, especially for men, are not Hebrew. A
man under a Nazarite vow was to let his hair grow long. Bob
Marley wrote a song “Time Will Tell” which begins “Jah would
never give the power to a baldhead”. The Rastafari faith sees
nothing but the Nazarite vow here, yet by nature, some men lose
their hair with age. Bob Marley had obviously not read 2 Kings
2:23 which says Elisha had a bald head, and also a double
portion of the power his forerunner Elijah had. Paul also ends
his words about this with “But if any man seem to be
contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of
God”. If this is read correctly, Paul's quotation of Greek
Philosophy to this Greek Church (in Corinth) was never meant to
be a rule within the Christian gatherings. But, it can be
understood how when the Crown of Life is attained, it might
manifest from a man as the shininess of a bald head, especially
when anointed with oil, while in a woman with the glory of this
chakra, it would be manifest as an increase in good works.

Thanks Dave.. I groaned when I saw it was a long post...I can't
'do' long posts very well...by the time I get to the end, I have
forgotten what I read at the beginning! :D
( I put that down to age now rather than being dumb..a good
       excuse)
That was written very well indeed and very readable...I have
tried to read such before, but don't seem to get it...you made
it easy for someone like myself to understand...thanks again.

The Crown of Life – the Bible limits the receiving of this

when anointed with oil, while in a woman with the glory of this
chakra, it would be manifest as an increase in good works.
[/quote]Yes, the Crown of Life appears around the head when the
other chakras have no obstructions and are filled with light.
A problem in any chakra acts almost like an electrical short --
it is like Satan and the demons who are willing to receive light
but unwilling to give it. Oh, they could and do give light at
times (Satan can appear as light, yes); but they do it only if
the calculation is that they'll get more back than they put out.
Such "shorts" in our system appear as dark spots. Well,
yes, like stains on our garments of light. So the Crown of
       Life gets shorted out also.
There is an exercise that can help the person seeking the Crown
of Life. You must want it -- with heart, mind and soul. You
visualize it being there. You want it emotionally, you use
your mind to imagine it being there, and you use your will to
try to put it in place. If successful, you should be able to
       feel it "up there."
It's not there permanently or fully however. The second one of
the lower chakras short out, the Crown of Life one will start to
flicker and go out. Just learning how to tell when the Crown
is there is useful. If you can "feel" it, it's there. You are
then walking in the Divine Light -- unless you're just imagining
things, and don't do that to yourself -- you want to know it's
there if it is and know when it's not so you can get it back.
This visualization serves to correct the other chakras. This
is so because the Crown Chakra connects you to the rest of the
universe. Completely. The person with a perfected and
complete Crown of Life has access to every bit of information in
the universe. Indeed, the Crown Chakra is a miniature copy of
the universe in a way. The person with the perfected Crown
Chakra has a "copy" of the entire universe around him -- and is
       "clothed in the sun."
I don't know if people read some of my musings about the
"central sun" -- but the Crown of Life follows the same pattern.
If I am connected to another person spiritually, he has a
point of light in my crown and I have a point of light in his.
It doesn't matter where either of us are physically in the
universe -- that spiritual connection is there . . . as long as
       both "keep their crowns."
Hate destroys things. For the Crown of Life to be there
securely, there can be only Love and Light. Love acts like
glue. Hate acts to separate. Fear does too.
So you visualize the Crown, and if you can feel it -- even
weakly and in part, that means you are connected to other parts
of the universe; and that means information is now available to
you -- information that often starts working to correct the
lower chakras and clean them up -- sometimes without your
knowing how it's being done. Sometimes you may get insights
into things as they're happening. The important thing is to
keeping the Crown in place -- not trying to know everything in
your conscious mind. If you "need to know" something so you
know what action to take in the physical world, you will be
       aware of that.
Some people do exercises with the lower chakras. The lower ones
can be treacherous if you stir them up too soon. I don't
recommend yoga that focuses on the lower ones. Cleaning up the
upper three first is the way to go; and if you do that, they
       start correcting the lower ones.
The reason that is true is that the dark spots or shorts in the
lower chakras have generally been blocked off from the upper
ones -- so the upper ones aren't sending light down to them,
feeding the darkness. The heart knows it's better not to deal
with some things at the conscious level; and forcing it opens
connections better left closed. Any defect -- and I do mean any
-- in the upper three -- can be exploited by the lower chakras.
Malachi contains a concealed reference to the Crown Chakra --
since the person with the Crown of Life is clothed in the sun.

Malachi 4:2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of
righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go
forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.
Of course, all the references to having garments without spot
also imply pure chakras in the Body of Light with the Crown
being present. We should be clothed in "light" and not the
kind of "skin" we have that was given to hold mind, soul and
heart together. The Hebrew words are similar, so similar
they're spelled the same way in English: 'owr -- but they are
       spelled differently in Hebrew.
Life inside the kind of "skin" we have is precious indeed since
that "skin" holds the heart, mind and soul together so they can
work out their problems. Life inside our "skins" is meant to
cure the "double mindedness" that James talks about. It's
astonishing really how we can be our own worst enemies with
inner conflicts tearing us apart. Astonishing too that the
lower chakras often think their continued existence depends on
stealing light from the upper ones -- that leads to shorting out
the Crown of Life and leads to death.
       Such are my beliefs. . . .
