^ Probably plenty who handle rattlers for the thrill of it. I
seem to automatically move very quickly away from snakes….and
can remember 3 times when snakes have chased me away. :)
A healthy instinct to have in my opinion, especially if you live
in Florida. I learned something interesting in psychology
class in college. Babies are afraid of two things without being
taught. They are afraid of snakes and they're afraid of
heights. Babies who crawl show this fear -- if you put them on
a table that has a glass over it and the glass goes out over the
edge of the table, the baby will crawl around where the table
is underneath but will seldom go out over where only the glass
is since the baby thinks nothing is there. Some people
speculate that maybe these two fears are related and go back to
when some human ancestors lived in trees where the two big
dangers were falling and snakes crawling up looking for food.
That python meat looked good….wonder if it tastes like
rattlesnake? Or maybe more like frog legs? I won't be
surprised to see Burmese Python on menus soon---especially down
near the Everglades.
Probably a lot like rattlesnake.
I wonder what they did with the 68 pythons they rounded up in
2013? I understand they aren't going to have the amateur hunt
again this year and opted to train licensed hunters. I would
think they could sell it -- to fancy restaurants too. Money
is always a good motivator. If there was a lucrative market
for it, the "licensed hunters" would be out there finding the
pythons. As Solomon said, "A feast is made for laughter, and
wine maketh merry: but money answereth all things."

grill ready to be fired up and then go hunting.

I don't know about the hunting part but I'm ready to grill. ;D
