Could space aliens be baptized?
By: Kerry Date: May 13, 2014, 6:35 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
It's a serious question. Back in 2010, the Pope's astronomer
talked about but I didn't take him too seriously since primarily
he's a scientist and not a theologian. From The Guardian,
September 17, 2010
HTML http://www.theguardian.com/science/2010/sep/17/pope-astronomer-baptise-aliens:
Aliens might have souls and could choose to be baptised if
humans ever met them, a Vatican scientist said today. The
official also dismissed intelligent design as "bad theology"
that had been "hijacked" by American creationist
fundamentalists.
Guy Consolmagno, who is one of the pope's astronomers, said he
would be "delighted" if intelligent life was found among the
stars. "But the odds of us finding it, of it being intelligent
and us being able to communicate with it – when you add them up
it's probably not a practical question."
Now Pope Francis was talking about it. From the Sydney Morning
Herald
HTML http://www.smh.com.au/world/pope-says-baptism-for-all--even-martians-20140513-zraqo.html#ixzz31X6KkNKa:
Pope Francis has declared everyone has the right to be baptised,
even aliens should they come knocking on the church's door.
Christians cannot "close the door" to all those who seek baptism
even if they are "green men, with a long nose and big ears, like
children draw," the pope said at his daily mass on Monday,
according to Vatican Radio.
"If tomorrow, for example, an expedition of Martians arrives and
some of them come to us ... and if one of them says: 'Me, I want
to be baptised!', what would happen?" Francis said in another
display of his lively sense of humour.
The Argentine pontiff known for his down-to-earth style has
often used colourful and humorous expressions to make his points
on the direction of the Roman Catholic Church.
On baptism Francis has stressed that it should not be refused,
especially to children whose parents may be breaking Church
rules such as living together as an unmarried couple.
I'm going to vote "yes," that space aliens could be baptized if
they asked; but I do not believe in the doctrine of original sin
as taught by the Catholic Church. I don't understand how
Catholics could believe space aliens could be baptized. It seems
to me that people who believe in the doctrine of original sin
and believes that baptism removes the stain on the soul
inherited from Adam and Eve should not believe in baptizing
space aliens who are not descended from Adam and Eve.

[/quote]I find it hard myself. It's almost like asking if we
could baptize pets. I'd say no to that.

8) Hi there...thanks for the notification...it gave me a smile,
even though it started by " It''s a serious question."
I voted No. Obviously when I voted I had not read anything
here..except the email notification. My thoughts were the same
as Kerry's...if aliens then why not my dog?
IF there are "little green men" out there...(and I was told once
that it is very arrogant of me to believe that this is the only
planet Jesus died for)...then I am sure that God made a plan for
them too. If there are any, I doubt very much if they had an "
adam and eve" green with pointy ears. God doesn't need to repeat
Himself.
Very much loved 'Star Trek' , and I grew up as a child listen to
the radio
(before TV came to our street) at 7pm a couple of times a week
to " Journey Into Space" scary music...and my brother would jump
out at me when I got to the top of the stairs headed to bed.
But...hummm I can't wrap my head around them wanting to be saved
by our Jesus and baptized...if there are any, God didn't tell me
or indicate it in our Bible...not our business, but if so, I am
sure they have their own story to tell...
:D

I feel fairly confident that if there are space aliens, God
wouldn't let them waiting until they got in their space ships
and visited earth to learn about God. I figure they would have
their own story, as you say, Helen.
But if we believe the space aliens need us to tell them about
Jesus, we shouldn't be waiting for them to come to us. Maybe
churches should be building their own rockets to explore space.
We could have Methodist missionaries, Baptist ones, Catholic
ones, etc.

I will take this as a serious question, and give my own version
of a serious answer. Starting with some scripture:
Jude 1:4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were
before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men,
turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying
the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
Now, seeing as Christ died for the ungodly -
Rom 4:4 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of
grace, but of debt. Rom 4:5 But to him that worketh not, but
believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is
counted for righteousness. (Also see Rom. 5:6 and 1 Pet. 4:18)
- then who are these "ungodly" which Jude is talking about, "who
were before of old ordained to condemnation"?
Peter also seems to mention this same condemnation:
1 Peter 3:18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the
just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to
death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: 19 By which
also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; 20 Which
sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God
waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing,
wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.”
Who is it then that had crept in among the believers by stealth?
Let's look at his answer - “6 And the angels which kept not
their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath
reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment
of the great day.
I think Jude and Peter together are revealing a pattern - a
consortium of angels and men who had corrupted some of mankind,
into a state that could never be redeemed. In Gen. 6 verse 4 we
read "There were giants in the earth in those days; and also
after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of
men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men
which were of old, men of renown.” Because the everlasting fire
is reserved specifically for the devil and his angels, so it is
also reserved for those who have made themselves nonredeemable
by consorting with them. Jude compares them to brute beasts,
knowing nothing but the natural, void of all things holy (v10).
These are the men who "crept in unawares" - those with alien
(Nephalim) DNA, and yes they could be baptised, because we are
not aware of them. In fact, as they've always been among us
"great men of renown", these would appear to us as important and
righteous men, but in actual fact, they are so ungodly, they are
unredeemable. They are not only being baptised, but also
venerated as particularly righteous men, because church people,
especially apostate church people, do not know any better. Jesus
said "I've not called the righteous, but sinners". Well, aren't
all sinners? Yes, all normal people, so who is He referring to
as "righteous"? Obviously in the immediate context, it was the
righteous Pharisees, who were venerated, and even showed up to
receive John's baptism. John the Baptist recognized them for
what they were and refused to baptise them, but most churches
would not be so smart, recognizing these were tainted 'from
beforehand, of old", angel (alien) - human hybrids.
So, my vote is yes aliens could be baptised - and in fact,
churches are baptising them all the time. These are great men
who appear godly, and typically, churches would not recognize
them as being from the tainted men of old, men of renown.

^ Strange as it sounds, Coldwar, I think I understand you and
think you could be right. While the "fallen ones" could be
baptized physically, it wouldn't do them a bit of good. I have
a negative view about any space aliens that travel in space
ships too -- although I've never seen one (my aunt saw one
though) and hope I never do. It doesn't seem right to me. I
can't believe that real angelic beings need space ships -- and
if angelic beings from other planets exist (which I do believe
since I think I've met a few), they wouldn't need baptism.
I may change my vote. I don't know anymore.

I'll stick to my No vote re baptism, yet maybe I am not so
convinced that some others are not 'out there.' I found
interesting things mentioned in this thread.
Pause for thought and all that.
I have/do lean more to the line of thinking that when people
'see things' which we know that they have and do...lights,
machines etc etc...that its governments spying and experimenting
etc
I don't trust any of them, I think it has much to do with the
'one world order' thing and control of the planet.

^ " I think it has much to do with the 'one world order' thing
and control of the planet."
Yes, it has everything to do with that, absolutely. It goes back
to "men of renown" who pre-dated Eden, who have genetically
perpetuated themselves through the human race, through
hybridization in various forms. In the bible, they're "giants";
later, they've gotten far more sophisticated. It is said that
with wheat and tares; we cannot tell them apart - same with
certain Eastern breeds of sheep and goats - they actually look
alike, so I've heard. The sheep and the wheat are ordinary
people with lost souls, the lost sheep whom the Father gave to
the Son, and for whom He died to save - and every single one
will be saved, as we know. If the one of 99 goes missing, the
Shepherd will be sure to search until He finds the very last
lost one.
On the other hand, the goats and the tares are unredeemable
human/angel hybrid reprobates, whose father is Satan, whose
lives are manipulated and planted by Satan. They are described
by Jude as "beasts" - without souls in the usual sense, but with
blasphemous spirit capabilities. As they have no soul to save,
then salvation is not in the plan for them - these are the devil
and his angels for whom the Lake of Fire was prepared. I think
that the "Synagogue of Satan" (Rev. 2 and 3) plays into this as
well - all Israel shall be saved (real Israelites), but not
those who say they are Jews but are not (like those who took
over Israel beginning with the Balfour Declaration.) I could go
on, but there's so much info (and mis-info) out there now - I'm
simply trying to keep it within the bounds of scripture.
Like Kerry said, these are not little green humanoids flying to
earth from other planets - they have always been among us since
before the flood, and afterwards (Gen 6:4). There could be
Billions of them, and we might see some every day and not
recognize them for who they are. They might be good, righteous,
church-going - maybe even our Pastors and Priest. I would say
they are mostly in the upper echelons of the world, because they
love power and money, but because they also love to be adored of
men, they live very straight in the public light (this is why I
say they are baptised), keeping their reprobate behavior behind
temples of darkness (think Skull and Bones, Illluminati and
Bohemian Grove, if you've researched any of that). Although they
are baptised, they are unredeemable, and so it would do them no
good, as Kerry stated.
