Curtis Earthquake Kelley has a life story that will leave you
wondering how one person could experience so much evil and live
to tell about it. As the seventh child, he was chosen to carry
on the voodoo legacy of his father. From the age of five, his
father trained him in voodoo and sorcery with the intent of
sending him to Haiti at age eleven to work under Papa Doc
Duvalier. Pastor and former heavyweight boxer Earthquake Kelley
shares an extraordinary story of his experiences as a child, and
the testimony of his salvation and deliverance from a wretched
life steeped in drugs and the occult. He also discusses his
near-death experiences, the first after dying of a drug overdose
at age fifteen and being pulled into hell. Decades later, after
dying of a brain aneurysm, he entered heaven and saw his son who
had been killed years earlier.

^ I didn't know what to make of some of those things. Some
things didn't sound quite right; but who am I to judge? I don't
know everything. How his mother behaved didn't make sense to
me; why would she stay with such a terrible husband? But I know
people can be like that as incredible as it seems.
His visit to Paradise made sense to me. That I could
understand better than the stories about the crazy things
people did. The world is a crazy place.

His testimony was helpful to me. I can relate to many of the
things he said. He said that his mother stayed with his father
for her children. His father had total control over the
situation and she wanted to be there for her children to try to
protect them. He said that it was her prayers that really helped
him. He was born into the occult, witchcraft and voodoo, and
never really had a childhood. There was a lot of abuse at the
hands of his father and other people that his father was
involved with. His sister helped him to go in a different
direction by taking him to church with her. That made a big
difference in his life. He has taken what happened to him and is
helping many people especially those who are needing help in
overcoming the occult.

^ Yes, that's the way it often was then. For one thing, it was
often hard for a woman to leave her husband and take the kids
and be able to survive. People would shun you too in some
cultures. Then too some women don't believe in divorce.
The man should have been put in jail as a menace to his wife
and children. I also found it disgusting how he pretended to
be a Christian to get her attracted to him, only to reveal his
true colors later.
How many other people are trapped in such situations? Who
knows, but we need more people who know about these things so
they can help the people who are trapped and may think there's
nothing they can do.

^There are too many people trapped in such situations. Things
like this exist in many families and children are born into it.
Those who have lived it and overcome it are able to help others
if they really want to and they do need to. Prayer is very
important to help these people. Curtis Kelley is helping people
in this way and educating them on the dangers of the occult.
