That is your judgment. How the early church interpreted it was
that clerics should never be in the military, and I think that
was right. That is still the rule in the Catholic Church. A
priest is not allowed to shed blood.

Not recognizing what is against Jesus' teachings are so abundant
in Christian community.
Practicing killing your enemy is the most hideous and
anti-Christ practice. It is the most hypocritical practice as
His followers because it involves the blood which is life..

Jesus is talking about paying tax. You need to read the Bible
contextually, brother.

I would say I was reading it in context. There are religious
matters and there are secular matters. You shouldn't confuse
the two as you do. How could his disciples pay their taxes if
they obeyed this commandment at all times?
Luke 10:4 Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute
no man by the way.
They couldn't. He was talking about not having money when going
out to preach the Gospel. You can't take that and apply it to
everyone saying no one should have money. If you said that,
they couldn't pay their taxes.
You want to apply the standard for religion on the government;
and I repeat it is still canon law among both Catholic and
Orthodox that no one in holy orders should shed blood. They
don't do it. They see the difference between secular and
religious; but you do not.
Also to be able to maintain your view, you're willing to reject
many other books in the Bible. Not only Paul, you probably
reject most of the Old Testament. What good is a holy book if
you play the judge and approve only the passages in the books
that agree with you? You might as well write your own Bible.
Not only that, Jesus quoted from many of the very books I bet
you reject. Did you see the thread about what books Jesus
quoted? He quoted them, but you reject them? And you call
other Christians hypocritical? For real now! i wonder if you
see yourself as morally superior to Moses and Paul.
You pick and choose what Bible verses according to what you want
to believe. And then you claim everything is so clear! Clear
to you maybe, but you have created your own Bible by editing out
the things you don't like; and what you say is not that clear to
me. So please spare me the comment about my needing to read
the Bible in context. You rip out the pages you don't like.
Did Jesus preach to the Roman centurion about quitting his job?
No. He healed his servant; but I bet you would have given the
centurion a lecture since it appears to be the thing you like to
do.

so it was biblical thing to do to kill Jews for German
Christians?
I don't think so, brother.

Of course not. Remember? Give to Caesar the things that are
Caesar's and to God the things that are God's. No government
should exist to deprive innocent people of their lives or
property.
The purpose of religion is to teach men and women how to behave
in a godly manner. The purpose of religion is not to punish
evil men.
The purpose of government is to protect the lives and property
of innocent citizens by making evil men afraid. A government
that acts otherwise is an improper government and loses its
God-given right to rule. Pharaoh used his government to
afflict the people; and God brought him down. Indeed that is
the reason Exodus does not call Moses' killing the Egyptian
"murder." It wasn't murder since Pharaoh's government was
corrupt. Moses was right to kill the Egyptian.

would say the same of you. There is never a moment of peace

because someone isn't in the army doesn't make him a saint.
Avoiding violence isn't going to save anyone. It's not enough.

Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger

22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother
without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and
whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of
the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in
danger of hell fire.
You weary me with your act of being better than other people.
Helen was trying to get you to talk about other things. We
could enjoy each other's company. But no, you want to argue.

Nothing is peaceful about it. I say it like it is. I don't
sugarcoat the reality like most Christians tend to do. that's
why I am in the forums. I am informing the public what is going

You have completely ignored my question about Jesus' quoting the

the prophets.

proclaim yourself a Christian and bemoan how poorly others
behave.

Jesus did that. When people try to get along with you, trying

away. So I can blast back. I see much more of the peacemaker
in Helen than in you. Helen isn't here to make others feel bad
so she can feel good about herself. By their fruits, you will
know them. And you enjoy stirring up people. Go ahead admit
it. What other reason would you have to go to Christian forums?
So you can complain about them? I see no other reason
although you may tell yourself you're trying to persuade people.
That would be a strange thing to say since you don't persuade
people by insulting them.

following a jesus of your own invention. You act too superior

a very high opinion of yourself. It doesn't surprise me you'd
look down at me as being "worldly minded." You look down your
