Kerry's timeline is absolutely correct. I've known this from way
back almost 40 years when I used to listen to Herbert W.
Armstrong, who insisted on the same timeline. I've never bought
into Easter or Christmas, and though I submit to family in Love
to observe Christmas, I do not celebrate Easter.
I do not attend church now, other than volunteering in a federal
prison Chapel every Sunday night. All churches put tradition
ahead of truth, from what I've seen.
I am not sure, in my case, whether its quite a black and white
for me, I see the truth and tradition mixed together and I do
also recognise that church is relevant and it is still biblical
to join together. The prison Chapel - that must be an
interesting place to be, do you do prison visiting - I know
there are some very good ministry's within the prisons here in
the UK, I am presuming you are in the US as you used the word '
federal '
I am very familiar with the Messianic Jews, as I have a couple
of friends in that movement, and often try to recruit me. From
what I've observed, they insist on observing the Law, which I
believe was abolished. How can there be continued observance of
the Law when there is no Temple available for it's full
observation? It has to be all or none - James 2:10; my take on
it is, I will not put myself under transgression of the Law for
the sake of keeping the right days.
I did not know that, and , like you, I would have a problem with
it - I guess for many it is no different to our traditions that
seem deep rooted, it must be part of who they are and difficult
to just feel ok about not observing them
I may be coming across as blunt here, but I'll temper that by
saying that I'm concerned that I don't go to church - see my
Post about the Eucharist - I do struggle.
I have always been a member at free churches, so they do not
have the Eucharist- so I do not know much about it - I will read
your post x
Finally, about "The Bible" miniseries on History Channel, I
wrote a review of it on my Blog yesterday, if anyone's
interested.

Sorry to digress a bit but I did not see the post from Coldwar
until yesterday and I wanted to apologise for now responding to
it
Sorry Coldwar, for some reason I did not see your post when I
was responding last week - have no idea why ( shall I use age as
an excuse ! )
Thank you for sharing your thoughts Coldwar- much appreciated x

I will say the one benefit I did gain from the mini series was
seeing the events in the proper time line starting with Noah in
the Ark to Paul. That did actually put things into a clearer
perspective for me personally as far as the bible story is
concerned.

I also did not respond to your post George- I am so pleased that
the mini series has helped you - I think that would have been
interesting - sadly if it was on the History channel I cannot
watch it. Actually I am trying to remember how on earth I
discovered that the events were not being conveyed in the right
order ( with regards to Christmas ) - it could not have been
from any sermons at my churches, that's a bit of a mystery- must
have read it somewhere in commentary notes.
