Change...

"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed
(changed) by the renewal of your mind, so that you may prove
what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even
the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect ." Romans
12:2
Paul used two words in Romans 12:2. I think there is a
difference between conform and transform.
Conform referred to the outward form....our outward form at age
twenty was different from what we look like at age seventy. The
body changes...and I no longer where mini-skirts!!!
Paul uses transformed ...... the essential part of
ourselves...the the inside. He was saying that if we want to
worship and serve God, we must undergo a change on the
inside....... not only of our outward form. The change must be
inward too, and it involves our personality, our mind, and our
very essential being.
Outward fashions may change, but inner worship is always in
style.
Romans 12:1 Only Christians can help us be a 'living sacrifice'.
His words are not about becoming believers, but they are about
living as believers.
This scripture challenges us to present all of our members to
God for His use. Meaning our minds, mouths, wills, emotions,
eyes, ears, hands, feet, et cetera.
And He is waiting to help us be all He has called us to be.

Good teaching, Helen.
You reminded me of Jesus telling the pharisee of how the inside
of the cup and dish must first be cleaned.

For me....that is the reward. I can see how He has changed me,
and know I still fall short....but I do long and hope for when I
am in total harmony with Him and all the others whom He is
working in---making us ONE in HIM.
