I too was encouraged after reading Laurie's post talking about
love. Unfortunately now I read about murder and nailing an
innocent man to a cross and am also supposed to equate that to
love. For me it doesn't work. I believe the bible says God saved
his son from that cross! Now that is Love!
Hebrews 5:7
King James Version (KJV)
7 Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers
and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was
able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;
At least in the story in the bible anyhow!

You Got me thinking on this now and what a grotesque idea! The
thought that God loves you so much he killed his only son, for
you?
I wouldn't kill my son for anybody! Just the opposite I would
kill anybody over my son!

Well George...that just goes to show how connect to this old
temporal earth you are...and how bind you are to the things that
count for eternity.
~~Jim Reeves~~
"This World Is Not My Home"
❡ "This world is not my home I'm just a passing through
Treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue
The angels beckon me from heaven's open door
And I can't feel at home in this world anymore
Oh Lord you know I have no friend like you
If heaven's not my home then Lord what will I do
The angels beckon me from heaven's open door
And I can't feel at home in this world anymore."❡

The whole world was lost
In the darkness of sin,
The Light of the world is Jesus!
Like sunshine at noonday,
His glory shone in.
The Light of the world is Jesus!
No darkness have we
Who in Jesus abide;
The Light of the world is Jesus!
We walk in the light
When we follow our Guide!
The Light of the world is Jesus!
Ye dwellers in darkness
With sin blinded eyes,
The Light of the world is Jesus!
Go, wash, at His bidding,
And light will arise.
The Light of the world is Jesus!
No need of the sunlight
In Heaven we’re told;
The Light of the world is Jesus!
The Lamb is the Light
In the city of gold,
The Light of the world is Jesus!
Come to the light, ’tis shining for thee;
Sweetly the light has dawned upon me.
Once I was blind, but now I can see:
The Light of the world is Jesus!

Is it not taught in Christendom that God sent his son as a
sacrifice for mankind? Jesus the lamb of God, the ultimate
sacrifice?

No one killed Christ per se.....he surrendered his life of his
own voilition.
"Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life,
that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay
it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power
to take it again."
