       Comfortless?

I will not leave you comfortless: I will come again. John 14:18
When we lose the joyful sense of His presence we mourn, but we
must not sorrow as if there were no hope. Our Lord in a little
wrath has hid Himself from us but or a moment,
       Isaiah 54:8
"In a little wrath I hid My face from thee for a moment; but
with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the
LORD thy Redeemer" . He doesn't hide forever.
He leaves us in a sense, but only in a sense. When He withdraws,
He leaves a token behind that He will return.
O Lord, come quickly! There is no life in this earthly existence
       if You be gone.
We sigh for the return of the blessed Truth and life.
'We are sure You wilt appear; and that right early'
Make no tarrying, O our God!

Even the fact that he has said that he will not leave us comfort
less is in itself a comfort in those times we feel cut off.
Again we are back to feelings, and not walking in the spirit
seeing by the eye of faith.

If ye fulfil the royal law according to the Scripture, Thou
shalt love thy neighbor as thyself, ye do well. James 2:8
       Come, children, let us go!
       We travel hand in hand;
Each in his brother finds his joy
       In this wild stranger land.
The strong be quick to raise
       The weaker when they fall;
Let love and peace and patience bloom
       In ready help for all.

I was thinking how much we see one side only and always look at
what we should be doing for one another. We admit we fall down
on the job and that we miss the mark so many times being
negligent to see others needs and so be the ministry of God to
       them.
       What about the recipient!
Are we quick to see the others need to help us? Do we take the
offered hand with glee? Can we understand how we can bless
another by letting them share what we are doing, even when we
feel we could get it done in half the time without them.
It is not that easy to let another be a good neighbour to us.
We do not lay in the road and let them minister the Lords grace
to us, no we struggle to our feet protesting that we are not
that badly hurt. We thrust away Gods messenger of love.
How hard it is to let God love us!
       James

That is another lesson I am slow in learning.....That God is
both in and moves through those that cross my life ( believers
or otherwise!) Not one person is 'a waste of time'.
We've all read that story about the woman who was told that
Jesus was coming to visit her. How a child, an old man, and then
an old woman came to her door during the day.
In the evening she was miserable that Jesus had not
come.......yet He had tried to come three times to her , and was
turned away.... She was so busy looking for Him in the image of
how and whom she expected Him to be.
How many times Lord, have I done the same?
