Eye opening experience.
By: George Date: January 30, 2013, 11:34 am
---------------------------------------------------------
Last night after reading the thread Spanish News paper It
inspired me to actually start reading the Qur'an, I decided
rather than to read the bible tonight I am going to start
reading the Qur'an to see for myself if what people claim is
true. I have been listening to hours upon hours of comparative
religion debates, lectures, and symposiums for several months
almost a year now; but not being very fond of reading I hadn't
actually read much of the Qur'an. Last night after about three
and a half to four hours of reading, I started to notice that
the Qur'an from the little I have read seems to be very
repetitive, and one of the reoccurring themes seem to be that If
you were aware of the Qur'an and turn from it and its teaching
or dispute anything there of within the Qur'an one is destined
to hells fire. Then I sat back and thought to myself, Christian
will say the same thing about Christianity, each religion claims
there religion is the only way to salvation, and once you have
been given the opportunity to accept it; but decide to refuse
its teachings you are worse off than if you never read it.
So now I'm sitting in my chair and thinking to myself wow what a
dilemma, I've made myself aware of both religions, What am I to
do now. Islam says if I don't agree 100% then I'm worse off than
the non believer, and I have had numerous Christian as resent as
yesterday to say "well I hate to see you go to hell for your
beliefs" When I was denying the idea that Jesus was crucified to
pay for our sins, and I have had numerous Christians tell me
that if I leave Christianity I am worse off than the non
believer. I have a hard time accepting this as truth. To be
honest I think it is hog wash!
So now it is around 3 a.m. I shut off my computer screen and lay
in my bed. I pray, and then I'm laying there not able to sleep
with all this on my mind. I toss and turned getting very little
sleep next thing I know it is time to get the boys up for
school, its now 5 a.m. by 7:30 am I am back up reading the
Qur'an. Over and Over again I'm reading that whoever disagrees
with one word of the Qur'an is worse off than the non believer,
and has his special place of torment in hells fire.
I take a break and see if there are any new posts to read then I
am looking up different words used in the Qur'an that I am not
sure of the meaning, Then I run across this religion referred to
in the Qur'an as Sabians. I had never heard of this before so I
go and look it up. after reading on this for a while I am some
how then referred to Bahá'í, I read about this for about an hour
and it was as if my every thought was being laid out
reading it back to myself. Here is what I believe myself and I'm
thinking that I am the only one who thinks this way. Now I
certainly haven't read enough on the Qur'an or the Bahá'í
teachings to say that I know what it is all about; But I have
read enough to see that if I had to profess a label or choose a
religion, I would have to say that I am a Bahá'í. I had seen
this word before and heard it described briefly; But because I
had never heard of it before I thought is was something that
person was making up and didn't take the time to research it to
see if it was real.
Now I am not professing to be Bahá'í as I still have a lot of
research to do, before I actually associate myself to it but as
of what I have read thus far, I don't see a single statement
that I would disagree with! What is most important to me that I
read is that they accept almost all religion to be true In its
time for its people and what they could bare, and therefor is an
ever evolving religion that will one day work to bring all
people of all religion together, Under One God, The Almighty,
Omnipotent, Omniscient, Creator of the heavens and the earth.
And all things known and unknown to man.
All religion has to work together, come together like parts of a
puzzle they have to work together for the ultimate purpose,
Union with God.
I can almost guarantee that the over a billion die hard bible
thumping Christians are never going to convert the over a
billion die hard Muslims or vise a versa! Yet I wont believe
that it is God's plan or will that over a billion known of
either religion is destine to eternal hells fire! as is claimed
in the Qur'an and by most Christians alike.

All I can say George is...I am so glad that GOD has all these
answers...for I know that I sure don't!! It all looks like one
big hodgepodge of a mess. The whole world looks like a
mess...religions , governments, economy, environment, you name
it, it is all mess.
Yet God says-"Behold I am the Lord, the god of all flesh is
there anything too hard for Me?"Jeremiah 32:27

I adore the Baha'i religion and it's writings, specifically
those by Baha-u-llah. Have many of them printed out and in a
notebook. Have continued to read them occasionally, but not
intensively like I did, oh, around 13 or so years ago.
Beautiful! Just Beautiful! The first writing I read was The
Seven Valleys and The Seven Hills.
Baha'i: a follower of The Light, The Light of the world which is
Christ.
I love what they teach that there are many Baha'is whom do not
even know that they are Baha'i.
Very pleased for you, George... this will only enhance your
journey, imo. :)
With love,
Leaf
P.S. Those who threaten you with hell are, imo, insecure in
their own beliefs and/or just spouting what they have been
taught by those who are insecure in their own beliefs... all of
whom do not yet fully understand their own religion.
