~ Thanksgiving~

There are few things that bring more energy and strength to our
souls than lifting up praise and thanksgiving from our hearts to
God. ( how the enemy hates and fights that! And, when we are
'down', how hard it is to do!)
Gratitude has a wonderful way of lifting us out of the fog of a
life that is grounding us and rooting our life to the earth.
.... the ancients who knew the secret of thanksgiving!
I usually don't care for The Message...but this to me sounded
much like a Daily Confession Of faith...so I liked it. 8)
Psalm 16 11
“Day and night I’ll stick with God; I’ve got a
good thing going and I’m not letting go. I’m happy
from the inside out, and from the outside in, I’m firmly
formed.
You canceled my ticket for death- that’s not my
destination!
Now You’ve got my feet on the life path, all radiant from
the shining of your face.
Ever since You took my hand, I’m on the right way”

I so miss the importance that this country used to give to the
holiday of Thanksgiving. I think it is representative of the
condition it now finds it's self in... through lack of
thanksgiving. Instead of thanksgiving the mentality of
entitlement has taken over along with the celebration of death
taking precedence too. Let us turn to the Lord and give thanks.
Let us pray for the return of thanksgiving.
I wanted to post the scripture that says that God lives in the
praises of His people, but alas~ I couldn't locate it.
Hallelujah!!! For ALL things.

Yes, these days it is just a holiday, without much thanks, but
lots of food! Canadian Thanksgiving is this Monday.
"They were beaten, and then thrown into prison. The jailer was
ordered to make sure they didn't escape. So he took no chances
but put them into the inner dungeon and clamped their feet in
the stocks. Around midnight, Paul and Silas were praying and
singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening.
Suddenly, there was a great earthquake, and the prison was
shaken to its foundations. All the doors flew open, and the
chains of every prisoner fell off!” Acts 16:23-26.
In our midnight hours...praise changes things!! Praise open
doors and brings down walls.
Praise is when we see God for His character, heart, power,
mercy, grace, knowledge, healing, strength,beauty,and
righteousness.
Worship is our heart-response to God’s holiness and love.
THank You Lord.

Profound thought provoking phrase. Could be a good thread title.

Well, also thinking of the American Thanksgiving this week....
;D
Psalm 105:1-5
Thanking God glorifies and magnifies Him, but by doing this it
also benefits us!!
The Lord doesn't need our thanks, but we need to give it so we
can become what He wants us to be.. unselfish,.. encouraged, and
confident.
Giving thanks...in all things.✟

Paul and Silas were just doing what was natural to them (praise)
they were not thinking that it was a tight situation and if they
were to praise God then something special would happen.
Something special did happen, the story has been told millions
of times, but more than that what they did has become almost a
ritual.
Now days we might see praise as the key that opens the door of
Gods deliverance, it might be we see praise as a tool to be used
to get something done but that's not what Paul was doing he was
thanking God for the chance to be in prison for the Lord.
I wonder if we genuinely gave God thanks for the restricting
situations if we might see more freedom.
I believe Paul and Silas were already free, that is why they
gave thanks and praised God, today's church might encourage us
to praise to get free thus agreeing we are in prison, not so
Paul.
The doors were opened and the foundations shaken to give the
testimony of truthfulness to what Paul and Silas demonstrated by
their rejoicing in God, they were free and no walls and bars
could ever imprison them.
