PRIESTS OF THE LORD

PRIESTS OF THE LORD
“But ye shall be named the Priest of the Lord: men shall call
you the Ministers of our God,” (Isaiah 51:6). “They shall be
priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a
thousand years,” (Rev. 20:6).
Man, as a son of God, must be a priest.
God, because He is LOVE, must sacrifice. ‘Agape-love’ has been
defined as ‘a love that is self-sacrificial in nature, that
impels one to deny himself for the sake of the loved one’. Love,
on the lowest level of human expression, is eros, which is
easily turned into all kinds of erotic expression and
perversion, for it is self-absorption kind of love. It loves
another only for what it receives in return. But God, who is the
highest form of love, freely, lavishly, sacrifices all, and it
is into this love that He is bringing His sons. The nature of
His sons is the same as the nature of the Father, who “freely
gives us all things”. (Rom. 8:32).
Man, even in his fallen state, inheriting His nature, must
sacrifice, must offer worship. For “we are also His offspring,”
(Acts 17:28). However, man in his fall, views God as an exactor,
not a Giver, and then he ceases to be a giver unto himself, or
to offer himself in a willing sacrifice, and begins to become an
exactor, as he perceives, however so falsely, God to be.
When you view God as a wrathful, vengeful, exactor, then if you
would emulate your God, you soon turn into one that tries to
exact allegiance from the people, and rather than GIVING, you
become a TAKER from men. We see this manifested all the time.
Perhaps one of the more obvious is the exacting of finances, but
more tragic is the exacting of subservient allegiance, so that
men bind others into followers of themselves. Thank God, He is
cleansing His elect from all this false, perverted view of
Himself, and they are beginning to see Him as that GREAT LOVE,
that GIVER, Who is MERCIFUL even to the unthankful and the
unholy. His priests shall be “AS HE IS”, to minister life, love,
compassion and mercy, reconciling the world unto God. Amen!

However, man in his fall, views God as an exactor, not a Giver,
and then he ceases to be a giver unto himself, or to offer
himself in a willing sacrifice, and begins to become an exactor,
as he perceives, however so falsely, God to be.
This is
the reason I think repentance must be the first step to
salvation. We will have wrong ideas about God as long as we
have wrong ideas about ourselves and try to hold onto them by
trying to defend our past misdeeds.
Only the child-like nature which asks if it is possible to be
true to its own nature can find God. As long as it is saying,
"I did not want to do those things but I did them because. . .
," the child-like nature is betraying itself and pretending to
be something it is not. Repentance, to me, is saying, "I want
to live the way I want to live, and that is to love and hope
others love me; and I am tired of doing things to others which
hurt them and which make me feel regret because I think that's
the way I have to act in order to survive."
