Our Seven-fold Being
By: coldwar Date: November 27, 2012, 5:33 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Earthly Body (Rom. 7:24) – animated earthly shell, invariably
subject to disease, ageing, decay and death. Temporal, merely
the same as animals, like the grass that withers; it will return
to dust.
Flesh (Rom. 7:18)– the “no good thing” part of man. It is the
center of temptations, sins and addictions. Spiritual activity
can only serve to diminish the flesh; never will Spirit increase
it. Flesh can thrive and grow when Spirit is refused, but it's
ultimate destiny is the same as that which it is most strongly
linked to – the earthly body – complete death and corruption
Soul (1 Peter 1:9)– invisible, yet perceived, that which marks
us as a person, the true identity, the place of personal
characteristic (friendly, loud, quiet, etc.), desire, dreams and
unctions, whether holy or unholy. Combined with the body and
mind, it is what makes every man and animal each a unique being.
A human soul can be saved or lost by whether it yields to spirit
or flesh; Soul contributes to worship; also animals have souls
Mind (Roman 12:2)– again invisible, and yet perceived, it is
different from the soul. Mind attributes come from the brain –
the body's control centre of both voluntary and involuntary
neural action. It is chiefly the place of perceptions, ideas,
thoughts, logic, teaching and learning, and governs the body in
creative or athletic acts; the mind contributes to worship
Heart (Eph. 3:17)- again invisible, and yet perceived, emotions,
joy, sorrow, contributes to creativity through strong link to
the soul, the place of faith and root of worship when linked to
the soul and mind by spirit.
Spirit (Gal. 4:6)– that which come exclusively from God. Spirit
can infuse itself over the soul, mind and heart to bring these
things into alignment with God's will. Every person has a place
for spirit, but in many it is empty, and not livened – such will
confuse the soul with spirit, thinking their soul is spiritual.
Resurrection body (1 Cor. 15:42)– a totally new body of a
different incorruptible kind in which our spirit is raised up as
demonstrated by Jesus, the first born. It will consist of
Spirit, Soul, heart and Mind, but not of flesh. It will have
nothing whatsoever “recycled” from our present earthly bodies

Hello Dave...long time no see! ;D
Good post...I liked it...chewing on it, as they say. Not quite
sure about the very last one.
It will consist of Spirit, Soul, heart? and Mind?, but
not of flesh.
Ummmm, still thinking on that one! ;D

I probably don't have this completely right - no matter,
because I originally did this up for my daughter, who has veered
off to a faith that puts extreme emphasis on Spirit. Just one
example - her oldest boy has autism, and she believes it is a
demon and not a medical condition. Further, she believes the
demon is a result of her husband's past involvement in Wicca.
I've seen so many people shipwrecked in this kind of belief
system, eventually losing their faith completely into a morass
of bitterness against God, because they fail to discern the
truth about these things.

My oldest son has autism as well, I was told that it was a
demon, and I need to cast it out in the name of Jesus... I
knowing my son find that extremely hard to believe!!!
Matthew 6:24
King James Version (KJV)
24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the
one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and
despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
This is why I find it so hard to believe... My son is going to
be 17 yrs old December 23rd... I have never forced him to attend
a church building, I myself do not attend a church building...
We have been to church functions together on occasion; but my
son attends church functions as much as possible!!! He loves to
praise God raise his hand in the air close his eyes and sing out
to the Lord... He loves to pray!!! He thinks he should go down
to the alter every Sunday to pray with the pastor... He sits
around the house looking at his many bible books and singing and
humming... Always with a smile... He is a true blessing!!! Like
I heard someone say before, Maybe we are the autistic ones and
they are actually more sane than ourselves... So for me and my
house, We fail to think or believe that our son/brother is demon
possessed...

Deuteronomy 24:16
King James Version (KJV)
16 The fathers shall not be put to death for the children,
neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers:
every man shall be put to death for his own sin.
Ezekiel 18:20
King James Version (KJV)
20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear
the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the
iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be
upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.
According to these scriptures I would have to disagree that the
son is suffering the consequence of the fathers actions...
Unless the father did some type of worshiping were he offered
his son to the dark side, or some type of activity such as that
I don't think it is a result of an after affect of his previous
actions...
Just my 2 cents as always I could be wrong... But it would take
a whole lot of convincing to get me to think my son is possessed
by a demon!!!
Matthew 7:22-23
King James Version (KJV)
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not
prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils?
and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart
from me, ye that work iniquity.
And according to this scripture, What man shall I trust to tell
me my son is possessed or that he by the name of Jesus Christ
can cast out devils??? It says on that day there will be MANY,
who thought they were doing the Lords will but are WRONG!!!

These verses always makes me think of the Corinthian church,
which was lacking in none of the gifts, but also was full of
iniquity.
The Corinthian church also could not tolerate spiritual meat and
was only able to ingest milk... meant for babes.
Gifts, in and of themselves truly mean nothing... just a marker
on the road as the journey continues.
