Message From The Queen

~A MESSAGE FROM THE QUEEN~
To the citizens of the United States of America from Her
Sovereign Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
In light of your failure in recent years to nominate competent
candidates for President of the USA and thus to govern
yourselves, we hereby give notice of the revocation of your
independence, effective immediately. (You should look up
'revocation' in the Oxford English Dictionary.)
Her Sovereign Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will resume monarchical
duties over all states, commonwealths, and territories (except
North Dakota, which she does not fancy).
Your new Prime Minister, David Cameron, will appoint a Governor
for America without the need for further elections.
Congress and the Senate will be disbanded. A questionnaire may
be circulated next year to determine whether any of you noticed.
To aid in the transition to a British Crown dependency, the
following rules are introduced with immediate effect:
~~~~~~~~~~~
1. The letter 'U' will be reinstated in words such as 'colour,'
'favour,' 'labour' and 'neighbour.' Likewise, you will learn to
spell 'doughnut' without skipping half the letters, and the
suffix '-ize' will be replaced by the suffix '-ise.' Generally,
you will be expected to raise your vocabulary to acceptable
levels. (look up 'vocabulary').
I don't know why it is, but I nearly always put the 'U' in those
words and then have to backspace to change... lol, it's much
more obvious when I am writing in longhand where it is not as
easy to change, and I am an American educated individual! Why is
it that I do that?!~ Not sure about the 'ise' though. As for
do-nut, lolol... it is easier :D. I do also greatly favor
(favour) the spelling of theatre as well. Surely there are other
word instances too where the English spelling is my natural
unthinking preference.
That was fun. Thanks for sharing.
I don't know how to post pictures or photos either. It would
have to be easy... no doubt that I would have to keep the
instructions nearby though. :o
[/quote]Click on the the image button (lower row, far left) to
get the image things. Then paste the url to the photo inside.
That's all there is to it.
Or you can compose off site and put the links in the text. Then
when you get here, you mouse over the link so it's colored, and
when you click on the image button, it puts the right things
around it.
If you are unfamiliar about how to get links, you pick the photo
you want by moving the cursor over it and right-click your
mouse. Pick the "copy image" option. Then paste it into the
post.
You can experiment by using the preview button. If it shows up
in your preview, you know you did it right.
Ha! I just realized why I use that English spelling with the
'U'.
I was thinking just the other day that the bible is responsible
to a large degree for my education on spelling, punctuation and
etc. I was just reminded of that thought when posting a
scripture here today that had a U in it that doesn't in American
spelling.
LOL
The spelling is frustrating, I spend most of my online time
talking to friends in the USA- and my spell check goes crazy,
but they love the way I ' speak '
If David Cameron has anything to do with it - run a mile, defend
your lands and tell him to get knotted........... no actually,
on second thoughts, embrace him - take him away from this land
PLEASE xx
Rita
