How much, how deeply, do we really believe that prayer changes
things?
= That prayer changes situation, that prayer changes people
hearts, that prayer changes us?

IMO the only thing greater and more powerful than prayer is God.
Today in my many errands I was given many opportunities to pray
for people... completely unknown people. A bus driver who was
adjusting the side view mirror, the mother and daughter walking
down the sidewalk, people passed by, drivers who were
inattentive, bum sitting on a sidewalk, so many situations seen
... prayer... and praising of God, giving thanks for all
things... this is what makes my day everyday. And am glad that
God also puts before me 'real/physical/tangible' ways that just
show up that I can be of service as well. Prayer in motion.
Without prayer... I don't want to imagine life without it. I
think I would not be complete without prayer. It would be like
being 100% handicapped. Its the fuel that makes all else happen
and fall into place... perfectly I might add too. LOL, if I am
seeing anything as less than perfect, then I am not looking
correctly and must go to prayer.
It may seem like I pray a lot. I probably do. Sometimes God has
me stay awake all night just to pray and I arise just as rested
as if I had slept all night.

I like the verse in Ps 103. 20 Bless the Lord, ye his angels,
that excel in strength, that do His commandments, hearkening
unto the voice of his Word.
When we open our mouth with His words heaven is alert and ready
to do His will.
I think it is important to 'pray the scriptures'...and if not
the scriptures, that which we know is within His word and will.
That is the confidence we have.
An old man taught us this when we were young.
He was our 'Sunday and Thursday meting pick up' senior..a grumpy
old man.
He would groan out loud in the Thursday Prayer Meeting when he
heard some of the members praying for this, and praying for
that, and saying things like " Lord, Ethel is sick, please bless
her..." He would mutter loudly " I think God knows that she is
sick" and- "you have a mouth woman, you speak the word of
blessing and healing over her."
We soon got the message...that God wont do what He has given us
the authority to do.

Yes, as said...the only thing more powerful than our prayer, is
God Himself.
14 And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we
ask any thing according to His will, He heareth us: And if we
know that He hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have
the petitions that we desired of Him.

John 11:41-42
King James Version (KJV)
41 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead
was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I
thank thee that thou hast heard me.
42 And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the
people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou
hast sent me.
Here we see Jesus thanking God for always answering his pray!!!

I read this today....and had never seen it this way...but can
see what they are sating.
It said that "Rest" is a form of worship.
When we rest, we are trusting, which is a form of worship.
We are saying, 'Lord, I know you are fully able to take care of
me and this situation, therefore I will REST.'
At the moment I have a situation which is heavy on my heart (
not CF&FF) and it is getting hard to know what or how to
pray...so this " Rest is worship"...was a good word for me
today.

I believe this very very deeply.......... ever since I read "the
prayer of a righteous man availith much". For a long time I
wondered why there was no righteous man to pray and get the job
done, and then it hit me, I am righteous, made so by his death
and his life. I might not see all my prayers being answered
the second I pray but answered they will be. Elijah was a
flawed man just like me and look what he could accomplish with a
little bit of prayer!
