       ~ The Bible~

I'm sure throughout our Christian lives we have owned many
bibles. I am ashamed to say I have normal AKJV, a small travel
AKJV, two Large print AKJV's, a Wide Margin AKJV with many
handwritten notes.. ... one NAS, one Newbury,an Amplified,a
       Concordant Literal,and a Weymouth and a Berkley!!
How awful is that, when some people don't have one! Most of
these were my old dad's..and old when he bought them in
secondhand shops...but still bibles none the less.
The person who has 'traveled many miles' with the Lord will not
part too easily with their own copy of the Bible. Another
persons bible may seem to be just the same, but it is not the
same as one's own! Over the years our own bible has been
through what we have been through. It seems to take on a
character all of it's own. It's become a comfortable old friend.
       :)
Dave aften laughs out loud, and says to me.."I wonder what I saw
in this "...then he will read out some underlined verses...and a
few tiny hand-written notes from the margin.
He says...'well obviously that for for something meaningful 'at
that time'...but it leave me cold and puzzled right now.
Which only goes to show, it is indeed a most remarkable book,
which is 'alive' when Father speaks through it.

I know just what you mean about David.
Most times with me I have put a verse reference in the margin
when I turn to it, it has nothing to do with the verse at all,
so what did I see as a connection at the time.
I dislike having to get a new bible, I know where everything is
in mine, it is half way down on the left hand page. I think I
know the biblical reference but in fact I have remembered where
       the verse is.
I think I am lucky because at my age there is no chance I shall
need to buy a new one in the next 25 years.
It is true my bible has seen all the trials and temptations that
       I have.
       James
